A new title, a new chapter, and a little introduction!✨

Hi everyone! As we transition this page over to my year as Miss Oregon Volunteer 2027, I figured it was time to introduce myself!

My name is Payton Idrogo, and I’m so honored to represent Oregon at Miss Volunteer America this June! While my journey to this title may not have followed the traditional path, I couldn’t be more excited for this opportunity and everything this year has in store.

A few things to get to know me:
•I have been competing in pageants since 2020, when my first ever pageant was canceled due to COVID
•I am a runner and just completed my first Marathon in Portland a week and a half ago
•I am the founder of my local run club @sunshineandmilesrc
•My S.E.R.V.E. initiative is Organ Donation: Legacy of Life, where I am a classroom educator through @donatelifenw while also sharing my own story of living with only one kidney
•I work as a inpatient phlebotomist at the hospital in Klamath Falls, so I’ve been lovingly dubbed as a vampire

I’m so excited to share this next chapter with you all, from preparing for the national stage to continuing to serve my community here in Oregon. Thank you for being here and following along!

Signing off for the first time,

Miss Oregon Volunteer 2027

Portland Marathon you were definitely an experience!

I went into this weekend with the only goal of finishing, I didn’t care about time or how I felt I just wanted to finish. What ended up happening was I came up with two other goals, don’t walk at all during this run and finish within 5 hours. So proud to say I completed all THREE goals I finished in 4 hours and 57 minutes and I didn’t walk at all. I definitely jogged very slow, but I never walked.

So many things happened leading up to this marathon including getting injured and not being able to run for a combination of four weeks. And starting a new job shortly before this training block so I had to rearrange my whole schedule. All this to say I’m so proud of myself and the biggest lesson I learned was give yourself grace and rest when your body needs it. It’s easy to always be go, go, go, but it’s hard when to know to take a break!

Thank you to all the spectators that came out, I can honestly say the crowds are the reason I finished this race! That’s my two cents on this amazing race, see you at the next starting line. 🏁🏃🏽‍♀️

Cherry City Half Marathon ✅

Thank you to Alex and Kelsey for putting on an amazing race and for picking me to be an ambassador! It was perfect weather and the course was so beautiful, I only slightly got trench foot from the standing water.😂 Just kidding the whole thing was great and I don’t mind a little water!

Now let’s run it back in three weeks, but this time a full marathon. See you soon Portland Marathon!
