Kyushu hits different when it comes to regional food, and you don’t even have to board a flight to taste why 🇯🇵✨ Tried the new limited-time Kyushu’s Finest menu at @sunwithmoonsg, and it felt like a little food trail across southern Japan. They’re highlighting dishes from all 7 prefectures in Kyushu until 2 Nov! Here’s what we had (and absolute must-tries): 🍱 Kyushu Grand Bento – If you get overwhelmed by big menus, just get this! It’s basically Kyushu on a single tray. Everything was delicious, but the highlights were definitely the rich Kagoshima Buri, tender Buta Kakuni, and warm Nagasaki Champon. (Bonus: lunch comes with strawberry ice cream, but dinner comes with the Yame Matcha Mont Blanc 🍵). 🦀 Snow Crab Tamago Don ($18.80) – Ultimate comfort food. The combination of sweet snow crab, simmered onions, and fluffy egg over warm rice hit the spot so hard. Simple, but done so well. Today's dinner at SUN with MOON! It's been eon years since I last ate here. I remember fondly the times we used to frequent the place almost every weekend when I just started out working and when instagram wasn't even launched yet.😄 Food is still as good as ever! Had two items from the kyushu seasonal menu, the shu mai and Kumamoto Fire sushi roll is soooo good! Super satisfying meal! I miss the sushi and desserts there especially the tofu cheesecake! The Aburi Sushi 7 Kind was a nice way to sample a variety of sushi, especially if you're someone who enjoys the combination of lightly torched toppings and sushi rice. The Spicy Aburi Salmon Roll is another option to consider if you enjoy salmon with a little kick, while the Aburi Mix Lemon Wasabi Carpaccio offers a different take on Japanese seafood flavours. We also had the Salmon and Teriyaki Chicken Kamameshi, a comforting rice dish that rounds out the meal nicely. Overall, SUN with MOON offers a good variety of Japanese favourites, from sashimi and aburi sushi to heartier rice dishes. Its location at Wheelock Place makes it a convenient option when you're around Orchard and craving Japanese food. Huge dinner crowd spotted at @sunwithmoonsg 🇯🇵✨ All here for the comforting Japanese classics or something a little different? The Kyushu Grand Bento is great if you like variety in one meal — plenty of small bites to work through without having to choose just one dish. I also tried the Snow Crab Tamago Don, which was rich, soft and comforting, especially if you love that sweet crab + egg combination. 🦀🍳 For dessert, the Sudachi Honey Imo Mochi was probably the most interesting item for me — chewy, lightly sweet and lifted by that citrusy sudachi note. Took a trip to Kyushu without leaving Singapore! 🤍 The Kyushu Grand Bento was the star: a whole tray of southern Japan in one sitting. Buttery Kagoshima Buri sashimi, silky Mentaiko Chawanmushi, the Kumamoto Fire Roll, a crispy Taipien Spring Roll, and a comforting bowl of Nagasaki Champon. Every compartment felt like a different prefecture 🍱 Paired it with a fluffy egg-and-crab rice bowl and pan-fried cheese mochi: crisp and golden outside, soft and stretchy inside, with a squeeze of citrus to cut through the richness 🧀🍋 Only here till 2 November, so go soon! 📍 SUN with MOON, Wheelock Place 03-15 @sunwithmoonsg

We tried the Kyushu’s Finest Set Lunch - Kyushu Grand Bento, a beautiful showcase of Kyushu‘s finest flavours, featuring sashimi, Kagoshima buri, braised pork belly, mentaiko chawanmushi, Kumamoto fire roll, taipien spring roll and mini chanpon noodles. The Kyushu Grand Bento also comes with a delightful strawberry ice cream for dessert! We also tried the Snow Crab Tamago Don - a delicate combination of snow crab, onions and enoki mushrooms simmered with egg, served over Japanese rice. Comforting and flavourful! To end our lunch, we had the Sudachi Honey Imo Mochi - a lovely sweet treat to finish the meal.
