Some things cooking….🔥

@supergroupprojects and @company_place have been commissioned by Torridge District Council to create a new permanent public artwork for Bideford, Devon. Pottery has been produced in North Devon since the 13th century, and from the 17th century onwards Bideford became a leading centre of ceramic production.

The Burton at Bideford, which has amassed one of the most significant pottery collections in the South West, was the starting point for our site research. @harrietrcooper , Abi Obene and the team helped us explore Bideford’s material culture through some brilliant object-based history sessions.

Alongside this, we held an open call for ten local 14-21 year-olds to join us in the design process as paid creatives. They had the chance to explore their own relationship with Bideford, their ideas for what public art should express and the future they would like to see.

Currently in production, this new collaborative and site-specific work will launch in late autumn, drawing together ideas from the group sessions and employing regional ceramic techniques (sgraffito, marbling and splatter) in unusual ways. More soon…🌈🏺🪨

@supergroupprojects’ Bronto tableware in @mhlbymargarethowell stores in London and Japan.

It’s always a pleasure to see Bronto stocked in @mhlbymargarethowell. Last year we had a display cabinet of our original design and process for the collection in the Coal Drops Yard store.

You’ll see that from some of the early design drawings in the display cabinet that initially Bronto was going to be stripy, we ended up settling for block colours, which I think was a good choice, as much as I like a stripe.

Bronto launched in 2022 for @hem, designed by @supergroupprojects under the creative direction of Laura Houseley @modern_design_review

Okay here we go - new-old challenge - starting with the latest prompt and moving backwards. Recreate this picture in your own style ! First of all, do you follow @stillherestilllife? It was and is the absolute best and most fun - still life drawing challenge. Ran by artists @zena.kay
& @tesssmithroberts - they shared an amazing photo every week (124 weeks worth), and attracted the absolute coolest artists and it was so fun to follow along and sometimes participate. I am sharing their prompts and doing a rewind until hopefully they come back ! !
They even published a book (I have a copy, probably in my storage unit and I wish they would republish it.) - so here is the next prompt #stillherestilllifeweek122 and here is what they wrote: Week 122- x @supergroupprojects
It’s Easter week here at Still Here & nothing sounds better than some dippy eggs!
As always, you can draw, animate, or paint the prompt in any medium-it’s completely up to you!
Just don’t forget to tag us and the collaboration so we can see your work. “ also tag #stillherestilllife #stillherestillliferewind

We’ve had a lot of fun talking about the different kind of dads everyone is buying for this year…

From the Outdoorsy Dad to the Homebody Dad, the Organised Dad and of course the hardest to buy for: the Dad Who Has Everything 🤓

And that’s what we are here for! We’ve been helping choose gifts all week, wrapping in store and having lovely conversations about the Dads and Father figures you’re buying for.

Open to 6pm every day plus you can still buy a Gift Voucher in time for Father’s Day 21st as they’re sent by email, or choose click & collect if you’re local 🤎

The Oddments pen tray designed by @supergroupprojects for @theconranshopofficial, as part of the larger Oddments collection of decorative, but mostly functional pieces.

The collection started as hand drawn shapes that we use a lot within our work, and then we made them functional in simple and playful ways.

Available now at @theconranshopofficial

I’ve been holed up with a fever for the past few days but something arrived that managed to drag me out of bed. A few weeks ago the wonderful @john_booth and @_ianmcintyre_ of @supergroupprojects invited me to decorate my own flower from their oddments collection @theconranshopofficial. As a total non ceramist I’m pretty chuffed. Isn’t she pretty! She suffered a little accident in the post but as luck might have it I’ve been playing with kintsugi kits recently so she just needs a little bling 💍 thank you guys for having me! (George)
