Thank you to everyone who came out to the opening last night. It was truly a treat to be in the room together and to spend time meeting the artists and hearing about their work. The energy, conversations, and care in the space made it a really special evening.

A big thank you to Beacon Photo Club for this show, and to curator @emmamcdonaldphotography for bringing The Process together so thoughtfully.

The Thief

Emma McDonald Diamond

Emma McDonald Diamond is a professional photographer living in Beacon, NY. Raised in North Carolina, Emma pursued her formal education in fine arts, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Photography from the East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. Her 15-year professional career has led her to become an award winning photographer in the wedding industry. More recently, Emma’s photography journey has taken her back to her roots, working in silver gelatin and alternative processes. She is also co-founder of Beacon Photo Club, an inclusive monthly meet-up, welcoming all photographic artists and all photography mediums.

Through Emma’s recent work, she is unpacking the labyrinth of emotions that accompany the transition into parenthood. She reflects on what is lost: spontaneity, independence, and sense of self, as they dissolve into the all-consuming demands of caregiving. It is an ode to caretakers everywhere—those who create, nurture, and persevere through the quiet unraveling of their own stories.

✨ UPCOMING SOLO SHOW ✨

‘Through the Diamond Window’ invites the viewer to peek behind the ramshackle plywood barrier and witness the world in production. With this series of images, Beacon based photographer Tom Stringer (@proletariatpunk ) reflects on three years spent working on commercial construction sites, where he witnessed the beauty and strength of the collective. The photos celebrate the comradery of the work site. Teams arriving with only their purpose in mind are inevitably weaved into a web of trust. The chaotic fabrication always boils down to a meticulously cohesive design greater than the sum of its parts. Everyday people erecting towers that touch the sky.

Through the Diamond Window opens June 8 at the @supersecretprojects gallery in Beacon, NY.

Tom Stringer is a photographer based in Beacon New York. Born and raised in upstate New York, Tom spent much of his free time driving around the reservoirs, hiking and taking in the landscape. His work is predominately made using analog mediums and vintage cameras. Tom is also a member of Beacon based artist collective Super Secret Projects.

🍬🍭 Dispatches from the Tutti Frutti 🍬🍭
May 11 - June 1, 2024

Dispatches from the Tutti Frutti marks the return of artist Elin Lundman and her irreverent cabal of monsters to Super Secret Projects gallery in Beacon, NY. Visitors will discover the Tutti Frutti, a candescent universe of repurposed and reclaimed trash and treasures inhabited by mysterious creatures imbued with the power to bring forgotten stories back to life.

Sly, irreverent, and radical–Elin’s art is a critique of mindless consumption and a plea for sustainability. It is the physical embodiment of her lifelong credo: to create one beautiful thing is divine, to endlessly reproduce is monstrous.

Elin Lundman (b. 1988 Lidköping, Sweden) is a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of fashion, fine art, and street art. Her monsters adorn large-scale murals, upcycled leatherwear, and canvases. Elin takes inspiration from her childhood in rural Sweden, where she adventured in the woods and cared for her many pets. After moving to Stockholm in her early 20s, she developed an interest in fashion and crafting. In 2014, she moved to Brooklyn, where she began infusing her story, as well as her kaleidoscopic style, into the project that would become Super Happy Ghost Co.
