Freeform Supper Club • Recap Series #2
𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐺𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔

The exploration continues, this time through taste.

A first experiment in bringing the culinary world into Freeform, with a menu made to be experienced alongside live music and performances.

It felt pretty special to finally give space to something we’ve carried with us for a long time, and to see so many friends jump in and help make it happen.

What started as a simple idea quickly became something much bigger than we imagined. Seeing it come together gave us a huge push, and there’s already so much more in the making.

Created with friends, for friends. 🫂

A glimpse back into the first chapter of Zwamp 🌀

We started this because we felt Berlin needed more space for progressive & psychedelic sounds and wanted to build a queer, FLINTA* focused space around them. We weren’t expecting so much success!

Seeing so many people together for the first night was incredible. We felt beyond proud to gather such a community 🥹

Now we’re ready for the next chapter.

Come zwamp with us again on the 11.09 🐊

Freeform Supper Club

𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑃𝑙𝑎𝑐𝑒

Like the menu, the table was meant to be part of the experience.
Inspired by its colours and movement, it came together like a painting ~ fluid, vibrant and made for a summer evening.

It invited people to move around, change seats and find new conversations.

June was quite a rollercoaster

I planned this month, many weeks ago while travelling, and when I got closer to departure day I freaked out. I was craving stability and I was gonna be out for a month, what was I gonna do. I struggled to rent my room and thought maybe that’s a sign, and at some point I told the universe that if nothing was coming I was gonna cancel this trip. Too much, this is how it felt at the time. At a time where I wanted to be in my city, in my room, I wanted space to heal, and I wanted comfort. Then someone said to me that the sea was gonna help me. And I remembered. The sea is one of my best friend, one of my healer. I love water, but the sea has something that always takes me away. Sometimes in a moment, sometimes in a few days, but it makes me travel inside and out, it moves a lot of things in me, while I don’t have to make a single move. I started reassuring myself, and felt more trust again in the process. Obviously when booking this, I had no idea I was gonna face a difficult period of time. You never know that kinda things, but I believe maybe things were organised in a way to hold you and to bring you somewhere. So eventually, someone I trusted decided to rent my room, and I went with it, I trusted. I trusted, even though trusting life since my mum died has been delicate. In every stop I made, I processed something, integrated thoughts, words, practices. I met people that inspired me, people that challenged my vision, and some I wish I didn’t meet. I was brought back to many old places and created new spaces in my mind. I made space in my heart while building new gates, hopefully provisory. My eyes have lived a lot, my heart went to slow walks and sometimes went to races. My body went through pain, strengthening and cleansing. And so on. And so on. And here I am, standing on my feet, while it still hurts physically, feeling a bit lighter and someday with the heaviest thoughts. Remembering healing has nothing to do with linear, remembering pain is often invisible, remembering time will do. Remembering us, remembering her, remembering at the end it will just be me.

a few weeks ago, I selected those shots taking over the days of spring in berlin as imagery for duality. Accepting duality, sometimes opposites, sometimes extremes that cohabitate together. It’s been a topic coming up before and since I went back to therapy, and there’s rarely a session where I don’t end up mentioning something that is relating to it. Duality is sometimes creating balance, sometimes unbalancing thing, and is something that I caught myself disliking many times. Often unveiling uncomfortable feelings, often highlighting important things for me. It reminds me of when my therapist caught me pointing positive things after confessing about emotions leaning towards orange or red in a wheel of emotions, and said to me, wait let’s stay with those, you have time to mention the good parts of it, for now I wanna hear more about those ones, how you feel and where. It striked me to hear her saying this, as I suddenly realised I was doing it too. What I was disliking in others, was just another mirror of a coping of mine. Bringing me back to a casual human condition, and opening my heart a bit more, expanding my mine with just a simple reminder.
