Looking back on Manifest, the powerful new work by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui for Perth Moves and Perth Festival. 12 Australian dancers, 150 volunteer performers, two pianists and one Moopa.

What an epic three nights of world-class dance in the city centre. It was a privilege to stage this show for free and extend access to the contemporary arts for the public. We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in bringing this work to life: the performers, volunteers and production crew, our generous donors, supporters and audience, and of course, our STRUT team.

I am so very grateful to have been part of such beautiful and special project. Creating and crafting for @sidilarbicherkaoui’s new work “ Manifest ” alongside @tjsamaya and such a dream team of dancers and collaborators. Thank you for the trust 🤍

I can not put into words the privilege it’s been to create, share and hold space for every single one of those beautiful dance artists. This multiplicity of stories, backgrounds, individuals coexisting with care was truly inspiring. Thank you for creating this Manfiest 🤍

Manifest is a groundbreaking performance inspired by the inherent conflicts within society, between individuals and communities. It celebrates the patience and courage to engage in these debates, and to confront each other’s beliefs with diplomacy and respect. An encounter is a conflict where the ultimate goal is not victory, but insight.

The Doof that never happened 🧘🏻‍♀️

What an amazing weekend at Wooroonook Lake. Huge thank you to all the legends that made it happen, to every artist that kept the music going 24/7 and to all my wonderful new and old friends for your warmth, love and energy. Was absolute magic 💜

When Nick Coutsier comes into class and says to give face… what do you do? You GIVE face.

Very fun photos from Nick’s morning class as part of the STRUT Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui Workshop, November 2024.

We look forward to welcoming the world of Larbi back to Boorloo in January 2025, when we begin creation for the world premiere of his new work Manifest - to be presented as part of Perth Moves 2025 with Perth Festival @perthfest .
