We don’t do basic… & we definitely don’t do boring.

This theater started with acoustic fabric panels in a gorgeous baroque arabesque pattern… in the most tragic brown. So we kept the pattern & lost the brown. Every panel hand painted, then finished with hand-applied crystal particles. A labor of love the camera refuses to give credit to. We love you @surfacerefinements ! In person, it shimmers every time the lights drop. Delicious.

Then we went all in. Leopard carpet. Red leather. Sconces inspired by jewelry links that are honestly INSANE. Glam, fun & done in less than a month.

So grateful for clients who trust us & the process, even when we pitch wall to wall leopard with a straight face.

Just add popcorn and champagne for the perfect night in. Like, why would you ever leave the house? 🍿

✨ LOOK WHO CAME TO TAKE A CLASS WITH ME! ✨

The wonderful Anna Sadler of Surface Refinements in Scottsdale, Arizona spent five full days with me learning the art of plaster relief — and what happened next makes me so excited for her!

During our week together, Anna learned which plasters to use, how to mix them properly, different application techniques, sculpting, carving, the tools that make the process easier, and how to seal and finish her work.

And yes… we had an absolute blast. ❤️

But here’s my favorite part:

Anna finished her class with me on Saturday.

By Monday, she had sold a LARGE plaster relief project to one of her own clients — and that one project paid for her entire class!

👏👏👏

Now she’s working on her beautiful panels, building her skills…and I think it’s safe to say:

Anna is officially addicted to plaster relief. 😂

This is exactly why I love teaching.

Plaster relief is opening up such an exciting creative avenue for decorative artists, and watching someone take what they learned in my studio and immediately turn it into an opportunity is incredibly rewarding.

Anna, I am SO excited to see where you take this. I have a feeling this is only the beginning. ❤️

And if you’ve been watching my work thinking…

“Oh my gosh, I want to learn how to do that…”

Maybe it’s your turn. 😉

I teach private, hands-on plaster relief training in my Phoenix-area studio, customized to your experience and what YOU want to learn.

Come spend a few days with me.

Fair warning though…

Plaster relief may become your next creative obsession.

What a world of difference it makes to add some color and pattern to a space! For anyone who still thinks wallpaper is for “Grammy’s house”, think again!

Such a sweet gift 🧁 baking rose, orange blossom, and bougainvillea cupcakes with my kiddos—equal parts sugar, giggles, and chaos. Not bad for 2 and 4 years old!

Boldness isn't just about color—it’s about texture. The massive stone exterior wall physically continues through the glass and into the living space, meeting the warmth of the tongue-and-groove wood ceiling. From this floor-to-ceiling masonry to the custom metalwork, the fireplace wall is the ultimate statement piece.

This bedroom was designed to be moody, sexy, and expressive in all the right ways! From the layered textures to the dramatic energy!🖤✨

And can we talk about this custom wall treatment?! Our insanely talented local artisan @surfacerefinements created this one-of-one design just for this space—rich color, bold flair, and perfectly moody without trying too hard.

Don’t even get me started on the floating florals… this level of custom detail is exactly what made this room ICONIC Award worthy 🏆✨ @iconiclifemag

So tell me 👀—what’s your favorite detail in this iconic bedroom?

We loved having Anna with Surface Refinements in our office yesterday! Anna is an artist who creates these amazing textures that are painted directly onto the wall. This gives the appearance of wallpaper without worrying about any seams and being able to customize exactly how a client wants.
