Getting the mileage in even when I’m at work. I had to do the last 3 miles on the treadmill because I couldn’t be off site for 2 hours. My watch didn’t capture some treadmill mileage. RUN THS DAMN THING! #marathontraining #runningover40 #firstmarathon #newrunner #runthisdamnthing

PROJECT: BERNARDO 3.0 DAY 15: PREPARATION FOR THE SURF CITY MARATHON FEBRUARY 7, 2027 THE RUN THAT GOT AWAY! 😂 Approximately 4.92 miles (unofficial). Well, this is frustrating! Today was my fourth long run and my longest distance yet, but my phone decided to die about 60% of the way through! Apparently, listening to music drained the battery faster than expected. When I finally turned my phone back on, Sports Tracker hadn't saved my progress. So there's no official record of today's run. But scout's honor, I completed it! And I ran approximately a quarter mile farther than my previous longest run. Started later in the day because of the heat and a busy morning, but I got it done. The technology failed me today. The system didn't. Day 15 in the books, even if the app doesn't agree! 😂 One run at a time. Thanks for following my journey! PROYECTO: BERNARDO 3.0 DÍA 15: PREPARACIÓN PARA EL SURF CITY MARATHON 7 DE FEBRERO DE 2027 ¡LA CORRIDA QUE SE ME ESCAPÓ! 😂 Aproximadamente 7.92 kilómetros (no oficiales). #surfcitymarathon #laactor #latinoactor #bolivianactor #fitat52

Flashback to the last 10 months of pure grit! All in the thick of postpartum 💪 Here’s a timeline of my results for the 3 half marathons I completed this year. I am so happy with my progress and look forward to what the new season has in store for me. I will continue to train with the stroller and use it has part of my training, but will also consider some additional runs without the stroller to acclimate my body. Primarily because I felt a difference in my strides this past marathon versus the two others. And the kiddos are getting bigger, so I got to train for either or at this point in my life! All good though because I learn something new every race and I’m here for just that! ❤️‍🔥 On to the next 👀 🏁 #runningcommunity #postpartumfitnessjourney #halfmarathoner #f

I have been exercising for the past 30+ years. Every type of workout protocol imaginable. Long distance running is a different beast. I’m learning that the little things in the gym improve my running performance……… Today I did a pretty intense full-body weight circuit for 45 minutes. Then I worked on run-specific training as seen in the reel: **Active ankle dorsiflexion is bringing your toes toward your shin. It helps your foot clear the ground as your leg swings forward and lets your shin move over your foot when you land. **Quick, controlled hops train your calves and Achilles to absorb and return energy with each landing. Bring your toes toward your shins between hops without forcing the position. Keep the jumps small and the rhythm smooth. **Weighted knee raises strengthen the muscles that bring your leg forward with every stride. Standing variations also challenge your balance and core as you lift against resistance. Stay tall, lift with control, and lower slowly. Build the weight gradually—keep the movement smooth. **Bending your knee during calf raises shifts more of the work toward your soleus—the deeper calf muscle that helps support and propel you with every stride. Train it with controlled reps and gradually add weight to build strength for the repetitive demands of running. RUN THIS DAMN THING!! #runningover40 #marathontraining #firstmarathon #marathonstrengthtraining #runthisdamnthing

PROJECT: BERNARDO 3.0 DAY 14: PREPARATION FOR THE SURF CITY MARATHON FEBRUARY 7, 2027 BACK ON FAMILIAR GROUND! 3.81 miles. 48 minutes and 59 seconds. Day 14! Back on my regular San Clemente route this morning. After a couple of challenging runs earlier this week, today's numbers showed some improvement. A little more distance, a quicker pace, and another session completed. Not every run feels the same, and that's becoming part of the experience. The important thing is continuing to build the system. Another run in the books. One run at a time! Thanks for following my journey. Let's go, people! PROYECTO: BERNARDO 3.0 DÍA 14: PREPARACIÓN PARA EL SURF CITY MARATHON 7 DE FEBRERO DE 2027 ¡DE REGRESO A MI RUTA HABITUAL! 6.13 kilómetros. 48 minutos y 59 segundos. ¡Otra corrida completada! Una corrida a la vez. Gracias por acompañarme en este camino. ¡Vamos, gente! #surfcitymarathon #laactor #latinoactor #bolivianactor #fitat52

PROJECT: BERNARDO 3.0 DAY 13: PREPARATION FOR THE SURF CITY MARATHON FEBRUARY 7, 2027 ONWARD, ONWARD, ONWARD! 3.20 miles. 44 minutes and 15 seconds. A change of scenery today! Running through Ladera Ranch while we're here taking care of the Peñitas while their mom is out of town. With a full plate ahead of me, today, I got started earlier than usual, hitting the pavement at 5:40 AM. Was it tough? Yes. Am I glad I did it? Absolutely. 100% yes! The first two runs of this week have been challenging, but that's part of the process. Not every day is going to feel easy. Another run completed. One run closer to the Surf City Marathon. Onward, onward, onward! Thanks for following my journey! PROYECTO: BERNARDO 3.0 DÍA 13: PREPARACIÓN PARA EL SURF CITY MARATHON 7 DE FEBRERO DE 2027 ¡ADELANTE, ADELANTE, ADELANTE! 5.15 kilómetros. 44 minutos y 15 segundos. ¡Adelante, adelante, adelante! ¡Gracias por acompañarme en este camino! #surfcitymarathon #laactor #latinoactor #bolivianactor #gettingfitat52
