Double podium finish.!

Very pleased to have taken second place in the shortboard and third in the Longboards.

What a pleasure to be invited back for the first British Army Surfing Veterans Championships over the weekend, for those who know me, along with my 23 years in the Army, they know how much the club meant to me.

So to be invited back and finish on a double podium, specially as I had no intention of Longboarding, and with the conditions, I can’t say how chuffed I am!!

A huge thanks to the current team at Army Surfing for making this happen, and thanks for all the support in the build up!

Genuinely awesome to catch up with old friends and share the jersey with them too 🤙🤙

Stoked to get this shot. Finally getting some more solid swell but still short period so a little busy on the inside of the line up - @coxy_since_61 got this one all sorted!!!! Solid hit 2 of a 3 to the beach.

Double session with my son under a dramatic sunset, with rainbow over St. Andrew’s, our first proper ocean surf together without me having to offer any guidance, perhaps some proof that pools can somewhat be a cheat code!!!

A direct comparison of the 2 boards I’ve been torn between.

Although very different, they both offered something I wanted, and it’s difficult to dispute the fun factor, but here’s my thoughts between them both, having surfed them in the same single single session at Lost Shore.

Well, what a difference a few hours makes!!

Late night surf trip, arrived at 0330 when it was already daylight, couldn’t sleep, first session was small, thought it had been a wasted 5+ hour drive.!

Then I got back in, and OMFG, head high, peeling for days, barrels on offer (tied to pull in, got deleted), surf progression where it counts, very very happy with this, it was much needed 😃

Can’t remember the last time I straight posted a phone clip to our commander (META)!

I’m not sure if there’s anywhere I prefer to visit more in Scotland for a surf strike mission than here.

Stunning sunsets, excellent waves, crystal clear water and golden beaches, what’s not to love.

Also, as someone who’s never in the same place long enough, or has the time or patience to hold down a good eating routine, I’ve been trying something new.
I’ve tried Gousto and all that stuff but still eat crap due to not having the time to cook it, so trying Prep Kitchen meals which are also perfect for the van.!!
Anyone tried anything similar let me know please.
