So excited to announce that our Blue Water Task Force water quality testing is officially starting!! Yesterday our BWTF Co-leads and some of our general members got trained on the water quality testing process we will be conducting to check for fecal contamination in our waters. Thank you to @surfridersf for training us at ocean beach yesterday (shout out Kyle!) we can’t wait to start testing here at Berkeley, thank you to Professor Carlson for hosting us in her lab🧪 🌊

Community has always been at the heart of what we do. Over the course of our summer pop-up tour, we partnered with local nonprofits in each city to bring all event proceeds back into the communities that hosted us.

Together we raised over $5,000 to strengthen local food systems, protect our oceans, and create inclusive climbing opportunities.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to @okofarms, @surfridersf, @wedontwaste, and @midwestrocknroutes who helped make each stop possible.

Hi! There are 200 people here now!! Not a lot a lot, but idk what I’m doing yet, and high key, that’s more than I expected so soon. It seems like most everyone is from around San Francisco, which is perfect because that’s where most of what I do happens and who I’ve been hoping to reach.

I’ve been working on increasing and improving urban green/open space and tree cover since college because I think everyone deserves an opportunity to connect with nature and receive the benefits of nature, no matter where they live.

I’m lucky to have made a career of this and that it allows me to be aware of and engaged in so many things. So, with this silly little IG, I hope to connect people to cool spaces and, if possible, drum up some support for them too. There’s a rich amount of natural resources around us, but there’s also a lot of work to be done to keep it that way! I don’t mean that in a negative way, but a hopeful one. Tending to nature isn’t the only way to push back on the world’s problems, but it is a good place to start.

We had a great turn out and generally a fantastic group at our most recent volunteer day at the McLaren Native Plant garden!

Made this lil birb at the Snowy Plover welcome party!

Stumbled upon some cool staircases in my neighborhood walks! This one is between Athens and Avalon, there’s another along Peru!

Got the scoop on Star King Open Space, swung on the swing.

There was Pokémon craziness recently, and this isn’t real grass, but what I walked away with is just how much open space could be made by closing this road.

We collaborated with @pacrunclub🏃for a run around the city with the tastiest beverages from @diasporaco and @hardwarecoffeecompany☕️, teamed up with @sharedcultures and @strausfamilycreamery for a funky smoked mussel caramel ice cream sundae🍨, had a block printing party🐟, and had a blast connecting with so many of you IRL. Thanks to you, we raided over $1600 for @surfridersf - funds that are crucially needed when our coastlines are under threat.

This Saturday, rally to say NO to offshore drilling and YES to clean energy at Hands Across The Sand!

Help send a message to our local leaders, Sacramento legislators, and the federal government that the waters off California should be off-limits to new offshore oil drilling.

We gathered at Sunset Dunes to celebrate Plover Appreciation Day and admire the plovers at Ocean Beach.

We were delighted to see the new interpretive signage at Judah, with lots of helpful information on our dune ecosystem, our plover neighbors and ways to share the park and beach to protect these special places.

BAY AREA, the final stop of our Summer Pop-up Tour is this weekend, 9/18-19, at the Patagonia San Francisco Store @patagoniasf. 🤩

Join us for a chance to try an exclusive Smoked Mussel Miso ice cream sundae with @sharedcultures and @strausfamilycreamery, a repair workshop with custom block prints and @marinfrenchcheese, and a Saturday morning run hosted by @pacrunclub and a brunch bar featuring @eatlittlesesame, @painterlandsisters, @lilbucksworld, and @diasporaco.
