SOUTH INDIA DESIGN TOUR | A few photographs from our glorious journey through South India last January.

I’m delighted to share a new version of the journey for January 2027: the original 17-day itinerary has been thoughtfully condensed into 12 days, with the price reduced by 20%.

The spirit of the tour remains unchanged — an immersive journey through some of Tamil Nadu’s most beautiful and evocative places, with a particular focus on art, architecture, design, craftsmanship and the people whose work gives each place its character.

Everything is carefully arranged, allowing you to settle into the gentle rhythm of travelling: wandering through historic streets, discovering extraordinary buildings, meeting local makers, lingering over long lunches and having time to truly take it all in.

We stay in properties chosen for their architecture, character and deep sense of place — from heritage mansions and intimate hotels to beautifully designed retreats that feel woven into their surroundings.

Along the way, there are moments that stay with you: swimming in a stepped temple-style pool designed by Geoffrey Bawa; waking in an Art Deco mansion surrounded by bougainvillea; and taking afternoon tea beside a traditional Tamil house, surrounded by the quiet beauty of the landscape.

The groups are small, usually around 12 guests, creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and plenty of opportunities to share the experience with like-minded travellers.
