We’re thrilled to have @sustainablespacesnz supporting this year’s House & Garden Walk as a Platinum Sponsor.

Owned and run by Samantha Rei, Sustainable Spaces is a bespoke local Interior Design Studio. A Wadestown local for 14 years and mum to twin boys at Wadestown School, Sam creates stunning kitchens, bathrooms and interior cabinetry designs, including laundries, bars, wardrobes and vanities, as well as spatial planning, interior and exterior colour consultancy, décor and soft furnishings.

All concepts are thoughtfully designed, with a focus on natural, New Zealand-made pieces and materials, brought to life through cutting-edge 3D technology.

We’re so grateful to Sustainable Spaces and Samantha for supporting our House & Garden Walk and our school community.

There’s something seriously powerful about a creative mind that isn’t afraid to push boundaries, and Sam Rei from @sustainablespacesnz does exactly that 😃

Her bold use of colour, paired with a deep commitment to sustainable materials, creates spaces that don’t just look beautiful, they feel meaningful and are also practical.

I get so much joy capturing these environments, watching creativity and personality come together in such a vibrant way.

Thanks Sam, for trusting me to document your incredible work 💚

Lately I’ve been obsessed with capturing behind-the-scenes timelapses of my photo shoots. 🎥

There’s something magical about turning an hour of creativity, collaboration, and pure flow into just a few seconds. It’s like watching the entire story unfold.

Can’t wait to share more of these little glimpses into the process!

Thank you to Sam Rei from @sustainablespacesnz for bringing this shoot alive 😃

HANDMADE

Hand built and unique, this bespoke ceramic pendant light by @_deborahsweeney_ falls in folds like fabric.

It’s instantly a classic, just like the William Morris wallpaper, originally designed in 1892 by J.H. Dearle. Adapted for machine printing, today’s version stays true to those original heritage samples, with beautiful, authentic colours and a subtly mottled finish that gives it a gorgeous hand-printed look.

Interior design by Samantha Rei @sustainablespacesnz. Sam is known for placing importance on quality materials and craftsmanship in her work. We love that here at Cave.

MAKE BRAVE COLOUR CHOICES

This colour combo by interior designer Samantha Rei @sustainablespacesnz is divine!

In addition to her talent for combining colour, pattern and texture, Samantha is an expert at showing her clients how to bring a planet-friendly ethos to their interiors.

“Many people think sustainability comes at a high financial cost, but with clever thinking, anything is possible, even on the smallest budget,” she says.

From the article 5 Steps To Creating A Designer Home That’s Good For The Planet & Good For You from @nzhviva by Leanne Moore.

Colour inspiration #1
If you know the shop, you’ll be more than familiar with our little #arsenicgreen painted porch!
A fabulous, iconic gREen by @farrowandball, ‘arsenic’ seems to take on a life of its own, looking quite different depending on the season, lighting, time of day and adjacent colours. You may have even noticed the shade in this beautiful little painting of RE by @janine_burrows_studio (pic 8), or during our REfurbishment (pic 9)
💚
This is a little homage to a green amongst greens, including some fabulous examples, used in a range of gorgeous interiors, exteriors and furnituRE…
🌿
Take a little stroll through the gREenery and please let us know if you’re a fan, especially if you’ve used the perfect poison paint colour yourself!
