Much, too much to say about this show. AND SO many people to thank.

But to keep it short, this has been and will continue to be an emotionally and physically colorful show for all. It has been a pleasure, a challenge, a journey! (Thank you to @gabrielalenafrank and @nilocruz1 for gifting us this adventure!)
So many people involved, and deeply invested in getting this show to where it has come.

I am honored and grateful to do this work, for the new friendships I have made and the continued collaboration with indisputable artists on and off stage (and in the audience 😉). Love them all!

Una noche gloriosa llena de orgullo y alegría. Tuve el honor de asistir al estreno en el Met de El último sueño de Frida y Diego de @gabrielalenafrank y @nilocruz1, la primera ópera en español compuesta por una mujer que se presenta en ese escenario. Cuantas más historias contemos, más gente escuchará.

Gracias a mis queridos amigos y artistas que anoche dieron vida a la historia de Frida y Diego, y bravo al @metopera por estrenar esta obra brillante ✨

A glorious night filled with pride and joy. I was honored to attend the Met premiere of Gabriela Lena Frank and Nilo Cruz’s El último sueño de Frida y Diego — the first Spanish-language opera composed by a woman to be performed on that stage. The more stories we tell, the more people will listen.

Thank you to my dear friends and artists who brought Frida and Diego’s story to life last night, and bravo to the @metopera for producing this brilliant work. ✨

The Met Opera Gala was magical! We honored the great Daisy Soros, whose spirit and generosity has left an immense legacy here at the @metopera ❤️ I was just floored with the amount of beauty in the room, especially with performances by the gorgeous divas @ailynperezsoprano @asmikgrigorianofficial @rosa_feola @angeljoyblue @ermonelajaho as well as @liparit.avetisyan stanislasdebarbeyrac and @bradmooreny on the piano! So grateful to have my personal hero @suzigomezpizzo as my date! 💕💕 Now to rest up and heal quickly as we head into our final week of rehearsals for El Ultimo Sueño de Frida y Diego! ❤️

Another year around the sun for my dear @leahhawkins__ 🌞🎉🥳 Of all the time I’ve known you, you have always been ready to conquer anything thrown at you, but this year more than any, I saw you rise up and face your fears head on with all the grace in the world! From jumping in as Leonora at the Met, to snorkeling in the Tulum waters, to traveling to a new cities on your own, and making house debuts left and right! So happy you are being honored in this way! We only had two shows together @metopera, El Niño and Antony and Cleopatra, but… 🥰🥰

From anticipating every need to holding my hand in times of support backstage… Thank you for your care, consideration, foresight and hilarious fun!

If memory serves, you once told me that you used to look after Julie Andrews, and while I’d never deign to compare: it feels fitting that you’ll close your time in New York with another Julia(e) namesake.

Take good care of yourself — goodness knows you’ve taken tremendous care of all of us — and wishing you tremendous joy for all future life endeavors, wherever they may lead…
