Join us this Wednesday evening at @printedmatterinc for RisoLAB Talks vol. 5 to celebrate the release of two new print projects created by the RisoLAB’s Summer 2026 Artists in Residence Travess Smalley and Kyle Canyon! Panayiotis Terzis will moderate a conversation between the artists from 6:00-7:00 pm, followed by drinks and a chance to meet the artists and buy their new editions. RSVP VIA LINK IN BIO!!! Wednesday, October 28th 5:30 pm Printed Matter, Inc. 231 11th Ave. New York, NY 10001 Gauche Neapolitain Girl by Kyle Canyon is a fast paced tale that dives into the thrilling life of a rising Hollywood character actress. She juggles her multi-hyphenated lifestyle, decorates her new postmodern environment, and tries her best to stay out of trouble. However, her tolerance will be pushed to the limit. There’s a bigger secret to our leading lady’s narrative, found between pages and behind folds. You just might have to read twice. The comic’s fractured story arc mimics the absurd montages and arthouse movie scenes it was inspired by. Think the last segment of Mulholland Drive, the tornado scene from The Wizard of Oz, or any of the iconic monologues from Tiffany Pollard during her reality TV confessionals. Kyle Canyon’s multidisciplinary work focuses on acts of repetition and ongoing sequences. The artist draws on methods of risograph printing and silkscreen, since these processes mirror the repetition and expressive abnormalities that come with rumination, the starting point of Canyons’ narratives. His pop-surreal style works in tandem with psychodramatic narratives to convey the nonlinear self-reflection that arises from this starting point. The work is a creative Frankenstein, combining notes from art history, pop-cultural fixations, and the artist’s personal life to form an array of complex narratives. The artist was born in Newport, RI, and now lives in Brooklyn, NY.

CASA RECOMMENDS: Another one to catch before it closes tomorrow: “Building Books. Corraini Edizioni: Children, Art, Design, and Everything Else” at @svanyc ✏️📚 Casa friend and illustrator Emiliano Ponzi @emilianoponzi @salotto.nyc told us not to miss this one. Corraini is Emiliano’s Italian publisher, so of course we had to go! So many great books and printed pieces from @corrainiedizioni, but we especially loved the wall of Un Sedicesimo, the experimental magazine conceived by @pietrocorraini in 2007. Every issue is just 16 pages, handed over to a different artist, illustrator or designer to do whatever they want with it. No set theme, no standard layout. Just 16 pages to play with. Geniale. 🇮🇹❤️ Last day is tomorrow, September 28! 📍SVA Flatiron Gallery and Project Space 133/141 West 21st Street

Some books can become tables, chairs and even bookshelves. At Building Books, Enzo Mari’s “Autoprogettazione?”steps off the page: following the instructions collected in the book, students from the School of Visual Arts built the furniture that now forms part of the exhibition in New York. First developed by Mari in the 1970s, “Autoprogettazione?” proposed a radically simple idea: instead of presenting finished objects, provide instructions that allow anyone to build them using basic materials and tools. More than fifty years later, those instructions are put to work once again, this time inside Building Books. 📍 School of Visual Arts, New York
📅 Last week to see “”Building Books””! Open til September 28, 2026 #BuildingBooks #CorrainiEdizioni #EnzoMari #Autoprogettazione #SVAGalleries

This September, our New York adventure also takes us to Rizzoli Bookstore.
A whole window is dedicated to Corraini, with Più e Meno by Bruno Munari and Giovanni Belgrano taking centre stage: 72 transparent cards, endless combinations, and a different story every time you start playing.
Inside the bookstore, Scalina, the foldable display designed by Paolo Ulian, hosts a selection of Corraini books to browse, discover and take home.
And there’s one more connection: Rizzoli is also the bookseller for Building Books, our exhibition currently on view at the School of Visual Arts.
So, if you happen to be wandering around New York this September, keep an eye out. You might run into Corraini more than once.
📍 Rizzoli Bookstore, New York

Books made it all the way to New York. And so did we. On Tuesday evening, Building Books opened at the School of Visual Arts in New York: more than fifty years of Corraini, unpacked and spread across rooms, walls, tables and shelves. Books to read, books to walk through, books turned into installations, alongside drawings, objects and many familiar (and new!) faces. Here are a few moments from opening day. We’ll be around until September 28, come by and discover how many things a book can be. 📍 School of Visual Arts, New York 📅 September 8–28, 2026 #BuildingBooks #CorrainiEdizioni #SVAGalleries #SchoolOfVisualArts #BookDesign
