Let me put it plainly: a lot of “social media marketers ” in Africa have never opened Ads Manager a day in their lives. 😂

They can post a beautiful picture, use trending sounds, and reply to comments with sweet emojis but ask them, “What’s your objective for this sales campaign?” and suddenly… silence. 😭

Your page looks good.
Your followers are plenty.
But sales? Crickets.

@yaafoundation is pleased to participate in the inception meeting of a project focused on strengthening young women’s political participation in governance and decision-making in Cameroon, hosted by WAA Cameroon.

The session was engaging, insightful, and action-oriented, creating space for stakeholders to reflect on the challenges young women face in political participation and, most importantly, explore practical ways to create greater opportunities for their voices to be heard and their leadership to be strengthened.

This project strongly aligns with YAA Foundation’s commitment to youth empowerment, gender equality, inclusive governance, and meaningful participation in decision-making spaces.

A major outcome of the meeting was the creation of a Steering Committee, which will play a key role in guiding the implementation of the project and ensuring that its objectives are achieved.

We are grateful to WAA Cameroon for having us and for bringing together stakeholders committed to advancing women’s leadership and participation in Cameroon.

The journey has begun, and we look forward to contributing meaningfully to this important initiative.

7 women. 7 days. 7 lives lost. And we cannot afford to look away.

Behind every number is a woman who had a name, a family, dreams, people who loved her, and a future she deserved to live.

The killing of women because they are women is not “just another case.” Femicide is gender-based violence at its most devastating and Cameroon must take it seriously.

How many more women must die before we demand action?
How many families must bury their daughters, sisters, mothers and wives before this becomes an urgent national conversation?

We need stronger prevention. We need accountability. We need better protection for survivors and women at risk. We need institutions to take reports of gender-based violence seriously. And we need to stop normalising violence against women.

This is a call to Cameroon: let us confront femicide. Let us confront gender-based violence. Let us protect women before another name becomes another statistic.

We planted coconut trees in Togo 🌴

The infamous question we usually get is; “how does planting more trees help our environment? We already have trees” welp!
The trees help protect the coastline from erosion and strong waves. Their roots hold the soil together and reduce flooding during storms and they also provide shade, improve air quality, and create homes for birds and sea animals. These coconut trees also support local communities by offering food, income, and natural resources.
Every tree we plant brings us one step closer to a healthier and more resilient coast which was the #CBBC26 goal in the Aneho community in Lomé.

As part of the Climate Beyond Borders Caravan, the team visited the Amanor Krom Kingdom in Ghana for a dialogue on indigenous solutions to climate change and biodiversity loss.

His Royal Majesty, Chief Osim Kwatia II, shared how traditional practices helped protect nature for generations, including designated no-entry days for forests, no-fishing periods for ecosystem recovery, and sustainable farming methods that preserved soil fertility.

The Chief highlighted the growing threat of illegal mining to rivers and ecosystems, while emphasizing the Ghanaian philosophy of Sankofa—learning from the past to build a better future.
The engagement reinforced the importance of integrating indigenous knowledge into climate action and environmental conservation.
