Sending a huge congratulations to Angie Cui @angiecuiwrites and Anna Wilson @abottlefullofrain on the launch of the fantastic new picture book, The Festival of Ice and Snow. How cute are these bookies by @sweetcookiekitchen ?!

Have you heard of this festival?
I learned so much about this celebration from this picture book. Angie has crafted a magical account of the festivities that occur at the annual festival of ice and snow held in northern China. Based on her childhood memories, and some modern traditions, this story takes you through all of the fun and uniqueness of the event.

Recent in both English and Chinese, it is written from the perspective of a child which makes it sweet and heartfelt. The illustrations by Anna a site to behold filled with colour and whimsical techniques. There is so much to explore on each page.

There is a flip through of the book above.

Thanks to @uqpbooks for sharing this review copy with us.

Do you know a child that loves collecting treasures? I certainly do.

Poppy Makes Pockets is a creative and heartwarming story by the very talented Jemima Parker and Karen Erasmus. @jemimaparkerwrites @karenerasmusillustration
Launched today in Canberra, we couldn’t be happier to be able to share in this celebration, with this review and some delicious bookies!

Poppy loves collecting treasures that she finds on her daily adventures, but unfortunately, her clothes often don’t have pockets for her to put her treasures in. So she comes up with a creative plan, showing that even the smallest people in our community can have a big impact.

This book is written with lots of heart and it celebrates fairness and community in a way that children can understand. The illustrations are delightful and it’s a book that is sure to inspire the younger generation to get out there and be creative.

Take a look at the flip through of Polly Makes Pockets above.

This weekend, the incredible Kiah Thomas, @kiahthomas celebrated the book launch of the eagerly awaited third, and final book, in The Callers middle-grade series. @little_bookroom

Congratulations Kiah! It was an absolute privilege to be able to create these brilliant cookies to help you celebrate this occasion.

How cute are these bookies?!
Featuring the covers of each book in The Callers series, these vanilla printed cookies look almost too good to eat! Almost 😉.

If you’ve not read The Callers, there’s no better time to start. This fantasy trilogy is an action-packed adventure featuring memorable characters and plot twists the will keep you guessing. While each novel shows strong themes of friendship, family and bravery, I love how The Journey Home is focused on the emotional journey and friendship challenges of the characters we have grown to know.

It is wonderful that Kiah has written a third book that ties so many threads from the series together, to craft a suspenseful and satisfying conclusion.
