A night worth celebrating. 🖤

Our Pure Barre ROC Open House was one for the books, and we’re still smiling thinking about it!

A HUGE thank you to my incredible instructors Sarah, Marianne, Leah, Shabeli & Emilee for showing up, bringing the energy, and making the evening so special. I am so lucky to have this team! 🫶

To our amazing members who made time to come, support our studio, and celebrate with us… THANK YOU! Our community truly is what makes Pure Barre ROC feel like so much more than a workout studio. 🥰

We are SO EXCITED for this! 🤩

Join the PBR fam on Friday, September 25th at 5:30pm for a night of snacks, sips, good convos, & vendor fun! 🥳 OH and we will have NEW special RETAIL, discounts on current Pure Barre retail, and some membership deals! 💕

We will also be offering FREE ASSISTED STRETCHES from our neighbors, StretchLab, during the event! 👏🏼

It’ll be a night to connect with fellow Pure Barre members, introduce you all to instructors you haven’t had the opportunity to take class with yet, and it’ll give you all a chance to bring your friends & family to the barre, without making them workout with you just yet 😆🫶🏼.

This week on Hanging Out For a Living, I’m hanging out with Meg Tyo, licensed clinical social worker, photographer, and founder of Sweet Home Photography.

Meg has brought those two worlds together in such a beautiful way, using photography to honor older adults, preserve memories, navigate loss and transition, and challenge the way we think about aging.

Our conversation reminded me that the photographs we take today may someday become some of the most precious things we own.

A little love letter to Pure Barre ROC. 🖤

This journey hasn’t always been easy. There have been challenges, growing pains, and moments that made me want to throw in the towel (IYKYK 😉). But through it all, Pure Barre has become one of the most rewarding places I’ve ever had the privilege of leading.

It’s never just been about the workouts. It’s about the people. The members who walk through our doors and become family. The team that pours their hearts into every class, every conversation, and every victory. The confidence that’s built one tuck, one pulse, and one class at a time.

To my incredible staff—thank you for showing up, lifting each other up, and making our studio feel like home. I am beyond blessed to work with each of you every day. 🥰

To our members—thank you for trusting us to be part of your journey. Your support, your dedication, & your love makes PBR what it is today. 🥹

Meg combines the compassion of social work with the personal expression of photography to give older adults a platform to truly be themselves. Whether it is words of wisdom, candid silly moments, or posing with a meaningful object, Meg captures genuine emotion and beautiful stories - not just a posed photo.

Kara’s takeaway: Meg’s passion for this work is palpable, and her pride in the gift she gives her clients is inspiring. She brings two rare skills together in a way that is entirely her own - and the result is something truly special for the people she photographs.
