About 11 years ago, my buddy Scott Norton and I accidentally started a nacho club.

What began as just the two of us (plus his then-fiancée) making an unreasonable amount of nachos somehow turned into a recurring tradition we’ve now done… honestly, I think 20+ times? Maybe more. We’ve lost count.

We call ourselves the Nacho Knights.

Last week’s gathering in Tribeca was an absolute blast.

Huge thanks to Karin for opening up her beautiful home and letting a dozen-plus adults temporarily turn it into a nacho laboratory.

Varun smoked nachos over hickory wood (the flavor being full absorbed by both chip and cheese 🤤) and quietly whipped up an Indian hot sauce I’ll be dreaming about until he decides to release the recipe.

Wiz engineered an outrageously silky queso with sodium citrate.

Zainab brought ridiculously juicy chicken that had no business being that good.

Shal brought the beef, took over the piano, and before long the whole room had drifted into piano karaoke.

There’s no recipe. No competition. No winner. Just everyone trying to leave the nachos a little better than they found them. I think that’s the whole point of life on Earth.

So here’s my encouragement: steal this idea.

Seriously.

Invite a few close friends. Invite someone you’ve been meaning to get to know better. Have everyone bring an ingredient, a technique, a sauce, or an experiment. Make way too many nachos.

I have a feeling you’ll end up talking about the people more than the food.

And if you’re in NYC and this sounds like your kind of ridiculous, leave a comment. I’d love to team up with some new folks and host a few Nacho Knights outside the original crew in 2026.

May thy chips stay crisp, thy queso never break, and thy jalapeños be plentiful.

Part two of what was described as “Berghain CPG vibes” —what’s not to love about an event that brings community together without any other intention than to connect, discover and build relations with other amazing people in the space?

Thank you @misfitsmarket for trusting us to throw a great event 🤝
