Incredibly grateful for the opportunity to attend the W32 Camp and SwimCon 2026.

Thank you to the team at Swimming Australia and the Carlile Foundation for making this experience possible, and to the coaches, mentors and team around me who continue to support, challenge and inspire me.

What a privilege to be part of SWIM Coaches & Teachers Australia SWIMCON26 on the Sunshine Coast.

Gill Connell, founder of Moving Smart, presented two workshops at the Australian Swim Teachers Conference, exploring the important connection between movement, development and learning.
A big thank you to the The Child Development Collective and Swimming Australia for hosting such a valuable event, and to everyone who joined the workshops.

When we understand how children move, we begin to understand how they learn.

Want to explore the science behind why movement and learning go hand in hand?

Comment MOVE and we’ll send you more about our online course, Movement Matters.

We had a great time at #swimcon26

Mitch presented on @swimtechaustralia and our journey from a single site swim school to now being 2 locations with over 100+ staff.

We then got to listen to a variety of other presenters over 3 days on how to look after your body as a teacher, aquatic excellence, social cohesion, how AI is being used in the industry, keeping kids safe & so much more.

@swimaustralia_ @sctaswim thanks for a great first conference!

Special shout out to all our new friends in the industry, we can’t wait to continue working together between now and next conference.

🌊💦 SWIMCON 26 – WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! 💦🌊

What an incredible few days for Andrea, Amy, Henry & Skye at SwimCon 26! 🤩

This year was all about CREATE • COLLABORATE • CONNECT — creating new ideas, collaborating with others in the aquatics industry, making valuable connections and coming home inspired. 💙🏊‍♀️

One of the absolute highlights was having the opportunity to meet, listen to and chat with some true legends and leading names in Australian aquatics, including Lani Pallister OLY, Kaylee McKeown OLY, Lawrie Lawrence, Dawn Fraser OLY, Dean Boxall, Rohan Taylor, Leigh Nugent and the fabulous MC for the event, Giaan Rooney OLY… just to name a few! 🤩🇦🇺

There were plenty of pinch-me moments, lots of laughs, some incredible conversations and SO much to bring back to the pool.

SwimCon 26 was an experience we won't forget anytime soon — and we think this little movie captures just some of the fun and memories! 🎥💦

Thank you SwimCon 26, and thank you to everyone at @swimaustralia_ for an amazing experience, yet again!

Now the countdown is on… bring on SwimCon 27! 🙌🏊‍♂️💙

Feroz, our Director of programs, delivered the Keynote Address on Learn to Swim at SwimCon- the national peak conference for Australia’s aquatics sector! 🏊‍♂️

If you’ve ever heard Feroz speak, you’ll know he has a knack for engaging a room and challenging us to think differently about the power of human-to-human relationships.

His keynote explored Relational Health- how intentionally building trust, connection and belonging can help engage some of the most vulnerable and underrepresented communities in swimming and surf settings.

Inclusion isn’t just about getting people through the door.
It’s about creating environments where people feel connected, safe and that they belong.

And when we get that right, swimming can become a powerful bridge between people, cultures and communities.

More to come soon 👀

Thank you to the wonderful team at @swimaustralia_ @sctaswim for an exceptional conference!

🎤 WHY SWIMCON? — PART 1 🏊‍♂️

We went around SwimCon asking swimmers, coaches, industry leaders and aquatic professionals one simple question:

“Why SwimCon?”

Here’s what they had to say! 👀🌊

Different people. Different experiences. One shared passion for swimming and aquatics.

Have spent the last 3 days at the @swimaustralia_ #swimcon26 conference with Swim Coaches & Teachers from all over the country - a group that has shaped & guided so many of our elite athletes over many years, myself included!🏊🏻‍♀️

From learn-to-swim teachers & swim school operators right through to high performance coaching, there was something for everyone through workshops, seminars, in-depth panels & some fabulous keynote speakers to educate, inform & inspire those who love everything about swimming! 🏊🏼

A special shout out to all those celebrated at the Awards Gala including two coaches who have been elevated to ‘Master Coach’ in Leigh Nugent & Rohan Taylor, an honour bestowed on only 15 Australian coaches before these latest two names were added to the list 👏

Once again reminded of how lucky I was to be guided by the very best on a journey that truly shaped not only what I did, but who I am 💙

Completely unrelated but I wore 4 outfits by Australian designers in @cablemelbourne @rebecca_thompson_fashion @une_piece & @joeythelabel so when THE Dawn Fraser asks you where your pant suit is from you proudly tell her you like to support Aussie labels wherever possible! 💚💛
