All round good guy, cycling advocate and of the shop Josh and friends are riding a Scottish coast to coast today to raise money for the Mossburn community farm and animal sanctuary.

Josh volunteers at the farm when he’s not working hard with cycling community projects, sustainable transport and bike ability instruction all over Scotland.

The farm takes in neglected and abandoned animals and gives them a comfortable life as well as providing animal related therapy for people.

Let’s hope the wind stays on their backs!

Any donations would be much appreciated to help the animals.

Over the years we’ve been big supporters of an animal sanctuary - Mossburn Community Farm - and they’re back with a fundraising bike ride - if you can afford to, please do help support this amazing charity.

There’s some stunning bike riding to be done in and around Mossburn - why not take your bike and combine a ride with a visit to the animals.

Mossburn provides sanctuary for animals in need, whether they have been neglected, abandoned or their owners can no longer care for them.
Mossburn also provides animal assisted therapy which gives a wide range of people many benefits, including helping with anxiety, giving comfort, reducing loneliness and increasing mental stimulation.

Mossburn is free to visit and as a community resource this is incredible. Time spent with animals is phenomenal for mental health and wellbeing. However, looking after the residents is not cheap with regular vets bills and the costs of feeding being especially high at the moment - an average month sees around £1000 being spent on feed bills alone. Please do support this special place and better yet, go and visit and experience it for yourself.

This year them riding from Annan on the Solway Coast through the Borders to reach Portobello Beach - a Scottish Coast to Coast.

Search 'Miles for Mossburn' on People's Fundraising to keep the sanctuary going.

Josh will be riding a sponsored Coast to Coast in order to keep this valuable resource for animals and humans alike running.

Cycling & Foraging Day 2025
🚲🧺🌱🍄‍🟫🪸🍱🌲🌳
After our first joyful bike foray in 2024 i’m delighted to announce that we are doing it again!
This is a fabulous day out exploring Galloway’s diverse wild foodscapes by bike, with foraged treats and tasters throughout and a wild food tasting picnic by the sea.
🚲🧺🌱🍄‍🟫🪸🍱🌲🌳
Using bikes allows us to explore a range of different habitats and the extraordinary wild foods they harbour. On this tour we will visit wetlands, forest, hedgerows, sandy shore and rocky coast via about 15 miles of mostly flat off road routes. During the day you will learn about edible and medicinal trees, plants, coastal herbs, seaweeds and perhaps some spring fungi.
A great gift for the active & curious - gift vouchers are available.
🚲🧺🌱🍄‍🟫🪸🍱🌲🌳
I’m delighted to be teaming up with Josh @swscycletraining again - he keeps you comfy & safe and troubleshoots any bike problems, leaving me free to burble on about foraging and enjoy the ride.
Bike hire is available.
🚲🧺🌱🍄‍🟫🪸🍱🌲🌳
A grand day out!

A quick #BTS of a recent trip to Glasgow for Cycling Scotland’s latest ‘Give Cycle Space’ campaign with @stvnews.

Supported by Police Scotland, Cycling Scotland’s campaign aims to make Scotland’s roads safer and reduce close pass incidents, where people cycling are overtaken by vehicles not leaving the legal 1.5m space.

The sun 🌞 turned out for the segment, which was on last night’s news! Many thanks all involved.
