🇬🇾 Guyanese Food Lovers NEED to Know This Spot 🔥📍Sybil’s Bakery | Lauderhill, FL

Hey friends! 👋🏽 Add this South Florida hidden gem to your list! 🔥

Sybil’s has roots going back to 1976, and its Lauderhill location has been serving halal food in South Florida for over a decade! ❤️

We tried:
✔️ Jerk + fried chicken with lo mein
✔️ Sorrel + peanut punch
✔️ Buss up shut (paratha roti) 🤤 I could order 20!
✔️ Pastries — cassava pone is my favorite.

And that hot sauce?! 🌶️🐉 DRAGON HOTTTTT. Proceed with caution! 🔥

If you call yourself an NYC foodie and haven’t been here yet, save this immediately. 🇬🇾✨👇
Body: Welcome to Sybil’s Bakery & Restaurant—the undeniable heartbeat of “Little Guyana” on Liberty Avenue in South Richmond Hill, Queens.
Walking inside feels like stepping into comfort food heaven. The steam table is always stacked with rich, slow-simmered curries, tender oxtail, jerk chicken, and freshly made dhal puri. But whatever you do, never leave without hitting the bakery counter. Their flaky pine tarts, warm cheese rolls, and sweet cassava pone are pure tradition in every single bite.
The flavor is unmatched, the portions are massive, and the energy is authentic NYC culture at its absolute best.

For 50 years, Sybil’s Bakery has been serving Queens a true taste of Guyana 🇬🇾

From pepperpot and curry goat to tennis rolls, pine tarts and those legendary Guyanese patties, Sybil’s is more than a restaurant. It is Caribbean history, family and culture served by the plate.

With two locations in Queens and one in South Florida, the legacy continues.

Five covers. One week.

The city moved outdoor dining into the charter, where no Council bill can reach it and only a November vote can. Roosevelt Avenue got 2,200 cart authorizations that lead to a list frozen since 2022. A 27-state lettuce recall named no restaurants, so every kitchen eats the loss. And then the ones who held: Sybil's on Liberty Ave turns fifty with breakfast still at $1.25, and a University Heights counter runs a line no downtown critic ever rated. Same city, two ledgers.

🌍🔥 You haven’t truly experienced Guyanese culture until you’ve felt the heartbeat of Africa.

This Saturday, witness the Nana Kete Troupe (“Elder Dancers” in Twi) bring history to life with Wolosodun, a powerful West African slave dance that honors resilience, followed by Sinte, an electrifying celebration of joy, rhythm, and freedom. 🥁✨

Every beat tells a story. Every step carries a legacy.
