in honor of #MyOldKentuckyHome having its 1st #Caturday of the season back this weekend 💙🤍 | my @kentuckycheer era, circa 2012-2016

• @enchanted.threads creations initially inspired me to try out this crochet style
• I started this back in April as a challenge to my creativity. I grid-mapped my pattern as closely as I could to the original but ultimately free-handed this as I went so it would still translate correctly. You can tell in my mini version that it’s a bit more abstract. I went into this thinking “how hard could this be?” and quickly realized it’s not the difficulty level but how TEDIOUS changing colors continuously throughout would be. 🙀

We're loving this quilted dress with pockets from @syd.made.it! Here's what she learned from this one-of-a-kind project:

"• This project gave me some of the most curveballs to-date in my sewing journey thus far and I took many breaks during the process so I wouldn’t lose it in the middle of a line of stitches lol
• I only had to seam-rip once so I’ll call that a major W
• after assembling it all is when I noticed I had placed a panel with a sun-stain right in the center on one of the sides 🙃
• I debated bias binding the hem of the dress and decided to leave it raw edge to make it more casual - Yes? No?
• newly learned: inseam pockets, bias tape on a v-neck, bust darts
• what I love most about making clothes is that this is a literal #OneOfAKind"
