This year, my life has taken a 180 shift.

My life now revolves around putting myself out there online and in person to share my travel business, Elevated Journeys and the women’s networking organization I’m bringing back to Utah, eWomenNetwork.

With this new “public exposure” comes courage and vulnerability. Two qualities I didn’t really embrace, nor did I feel like I embodied.

For context, I worked remotely from 2019-2025, and coined the term “Zoom mullet”, business on top, comfies on the bottom (😆). My extroverted, outgoing personality style from 30 years in HR was now leaning much more towards introverted and insecure.

However, as a new entrepreneur and community builder, networking and meeting new people is a MUST. There is no option.

So, I do it…Often. Even on the days where I don’t feel like it (which is a lot, when for the past 6 years, my commute was bedroom/living room to office down the hall.)

New wardrobe, putting on makeup, doing the hair. Playing full out because I’m not behind a computer screen anymore.

Which brings me to my point.

When I can take my young 20-something nieces to these events and model what it looks like to put yourself in uncomfortable and sometimes awkward situations to stretch yourself…the practice of pushing through that discomfort and project some kind of confidence (because it’s always a work in progress for me!) it gives me new purpose.

I feel like I’ve added some value to their lives and that means more than just building new relationships, gaining new clients, and inviting women to join my community.

They don’t need me to have it all figured out. They just need to see me show up. Because that’s what leaders do.

We’re feeling the love Rise4 Fam!

We just took home 1st place for Best Bootcamp and Best Circuit Training, plus we were voted Top 3 Best Boutique Fitness Studio in Utah in @slcweekly Best of Mind & Body awards!

We couldn’t have done it without our incredible community. Every early morning, every sweaty high-five, every shout of encouragement… you all make Rise4 what it is. Thank you for showing up and being part of this fam. Let’s keep rising.

One of the most stressful mornings I’ve had as a parent. 30 minutes after this pic the ballon popped and I didn’t have an extra (rookie mistake). I ordered it online and as fortune would have it, the warehouse was in SLC. Found the address and they graciously sold me a couple more balloons. Made it just in time for the costume parade ( at least that’s how I remember it).

2 years open today! 🍻

I am so grateful for everyone in this picture, they are the reason we have been able to create a gym and community where everyone and anyone can come and feel welcome no matter what stage of life’s journey they are on.

I am hopeful we can continue to get people feeling, moving, and looking the way they desire for as long as we all continue to have the same desire to help the people.
