a friendly reminder that life is crazy, changing constantly — and it’s okay for you to change with it 🫶🏼 i’ve been going through a lot recently. it’s reminded me that i’m proud of my younger self, for all of the things she went through to make me who i am today. for giving me the strength to push on and be something more. take a minute to appreciate your life and all of its ups and downs. growth isn’t always loud or visible. sometimes it’s the quiet becoming. be proud of yourself 😚 • last two pics were exactly 1 year ago. i love to see the physical growth i’ve made. but even more, i love to recognize all of the internal growth that’s been going on too.

here’s 8 things i’ve learned in the past 2 years: 1. the right choices aren’t always the easiest ones it wasn’t easy getting sober. in fact, it’s the hardest thing i’ve ever done. but it has been more than worth it in every moment of my life. 2. discipline is an act of love showing up is where you level up. you don’t have to give it your all everyday. some days, getting out of bed is a win. but you do the damn thing and you keep at it, always. show up in whatever it is that you set your mind to: sobriety, gym, school, anything. SHOW UP 3. you can make mistakes and still be a good person my worth was never something i had to prove or fight for. i have innate value simply because i am me. drinking didn’t take that away from me. that shame will follow you around forever if you let it. you have to forgive yourself. and those who love you will forgive you too, they probably already have. 4. you don’t need a dramatic comeback story its true, you don’t. but it’s wayyyyy cooler to have one. so put in the work and make something of yourself. with alcohol, i had slipped into stagnation. i wasn’t making any progress in my life, not thinking about any goals. but they were there the whole time, just overtaken by alcohol. once i cut that out, i’ve become unstoppable. 5. you can trust yourself alcohol made me a liar. i was secretive and unreliable. i wanted to bring honesty back into my life with sobriety. it has brought honesty and self-trust to the highest standard. 6. authenticity attracts better people than performance ever could i made so many friends in bar bathrooms. i called it “bathroom besties” but i never remembered our conversations the next day. now i make friends and i genuinely care to get to know them. 7. growth is less dramatic than you expect i thought everyday would feel like a win in sobriety, turns out it’s just life now. and its actually the most peace i’ve ever experienced. 8. you never needed alcohol to be the party girl life is way better when you remember it. i thought alcohol made me more fun, turns out it just made me loud and annoying. sober lib is the best lib. #soberlife #gymgirl #gymlife
