FEB–FRIEZE SEOUL STUDIO VISIT — SCHEDULE We’ve received many questions about where and when the Feb–Frieze Seoul Studio Visit is happening. Here’s the answer: it already did. It’s already happening. It’s online, right now, open to anyone, anywhere, regardless of whether you’re in Seoul. The physical leg runs across Seoul on the dates above, at each participating space. Hours and access vary by artist, so check their individual posts before you go. But the museum itself has no walls to arrive at. The online venue is the venue. It doesn’t open and close. It’s just open. 📍 Physical Studio Visit Schedule (see image)
Check each participant’s post for exact hours. Feb–Frieze Seoul Studio Visit

Feb-Frieze Seoul Studio Visit What happens when an invitation is passed from one participant to the next? Feb-Frieze Seoul Studio Visit is an open, participant-led program hosted by Seo-Seo-Seoul Museum of Art, developed from the museum’s own experimental governance system. Rather than having a museum, institution, or gallery determine the entire program from the top down with their own agendas, the museum invites the first participant, and that participant chooses the next. The process continues from one participant to another until four groups form the program. After the first invitation, the museum does not intervene in the selection process. The idea is to allow a program to develop organically through the participants themselves, rather than being shaped by institutional pressure and predetermined structures. For this year’s Feb-Frieze Seoul Studio Visit, four different groups have come together: 1. @its.a.pavilion — Alternative Art Fair
2. @jjk255 @yiwentseng @synphysica @leesoyoungx — A group show where nature, time, and technology converge
3. @yibalso.beyonsin —A traveling barbershop where care and violence alternate
4. @minohrichar — A media artist exploring small talk The project also asks us to reconsider what a “studio visit” can be. Rather than limiting the format to a conventional artist’s studio, each participant is invited to define their own space, practice, and way of connecting with an audience. The detailed introductions to each participant will follow in a series of individual posts soon. Each post will introduce the participant’s practice, projects so that anybody even if you are not in Korea or Seoul during the Seoul Art Week can experience the participant’s practice. Additionally, if there are any physical events or activities they may have planned, will be explained there. This preview is only an introduction to the four groups. The rest of the project belongs to the participants Because contemporary art should not begin with a gate.
It should begin with a door left open. Huge thanks to @sascha_pohle for advising this project as well as @heejung19 @sojin_kwak @dianaband_w for providing helpful feedback and support.

TAIWAN POP | TCCNY 35 - 01-3 🗽紐文35 - 曼哈頓臺灣文化黑潮🌊🌊 What if a forest could exist in the middle of New York? 🌿🍃🌱🌾🍀☘️🍁🍂 That question became the starting point for Borderless Habitat. During ChiaoChi CHOU research at Columbia University, Taiwanese interdisciplinary artist Chiaochi Chou began exploring how the forests of Puerto Rico could be experienced from within the city. To create the work, she carried scanning equipment across steep mountainsides, capturing the landscape piece by piece. Ask her what plant best describes her, and she'll smile: "A wild epiphyte." Through Borderless Habitat, Chou invites us to step beyond the familiar and discover that some places aren't far away, they simply ask us to look closer. 🌿🍃🌱🌾🍀☘️🍁🍂 One last day. One last chance to step beyond the familiar. 🌿🍃🌱🌾🍀☘️🍁🍂 🌿 Exhibition | Borderless Habitat 📅 July 31, 9:30 AM–4:00 PM 📍 TECO-NY | 1 E 42nd St, New York 導演：Boyu Huang 現場執行：Albert Hsueh @alberthsueh1216 攝影/剪輯：Boyu Huang @boyuuuuu 攝影助理/字幕：Hao Yeh @hao.yzh 影像執行統籌：Leo Chang @YourMandarinGuy Courtesy of Chiaochi Chou & Synphysica #BorderlessHabitat #ChiaochiChou #TaiwanPOP #TCCNY35 #TaiwanArt #TaiwanInNYC #ContemporaryArt #Ecology

TAIWAN POP | TCCNY 35 - Series 01-3 🗽紐文35 - 曼哈頓臺灣文化黑潮🌊🌊 The forest is closer than we think. 🌿🍃🌱🌾🍀☘️🍁🍂🌿🍃🌱🌾🍀☘️ Not somewhere far away, but in the systems that quietly sustain life all around us. Through Borderless Habitat, Taiwanese artist Chiaochi Chou invites us to experience ecology differently: where scientific research becomes something you can sense and feel. Join us for an evening with the artist as she shares the journey behind the project from field research to immersive installation. 🌿 Artist Talk | July 30 • 6–7 PM 🌿 Exhibition | July 27–31 • 9:30 AM–4:00 PM 📍 Taipei Culture Center in NY Courtesy of Chiaochi Chou & Synphysica #TaiwanPOP #TaiwanInNYC #ContemporaryArt #Ecology #NewYorkArt #BorderlessHabitat #ChiaochiChou #Synphysica

📢 Event Update Unfortunately, Professor Maria Uriarte is no longer able to join us on July 30 due to an unexpected circumstance. Artist Chiaochi Chou will lead a tour of the exhibition, share the research and creative process behind the project, and guide participants through an interactive experience. ---------- 🌿 Borderless Habitat | Talk & Exhibition 🌿 Join Taiwanese interdisciplinary artist Chiaochi Chou and American ecologist Maria Uriarte, Professor at Columbia University, for a conversation on their collaboration transforming the invisible ecological processes within forests into artistic forms that can be perceived and understood. This Taiwan–U.S. collaboration began when Chou was selected as an Asian Cultural Council 2023 Asia Grant Cycle awardee and came to New York. Moving between the forests of Puerto Rico and the urban life of New York City, Uriarte and Chou developed a shared practice that resulted in an interactive moving-image work that traces sixty years of research in El Yunque Forest. 🎤 Talk | Borderless Habitat: Ecology and Art in Shared Practice 📅 July 30, 6:00–7:00 PM 👥 Speakers: Maria Uriarte, Chiaochi Chou 🥂 Light refreshments will be served.
