People ask me “How do you measure progress with your hand?”⁣
⁣
I often reply with how heavy of a kettlebell can I swing with one hand now vs before ⁣
⁣
This is the first time I’ve been able to swing the 106# which is the heaviest I could swing before ⁣
⁣
Only 4 so-so looking reps but they make me very happy ⁣

There are no small wins dealing with a disability. What can I help you recover from? ⁣

A variable that is more than just how many pounds. ⁣
⁣
What you hold and where you hold it make significant differences in the challenge. ⁣
⁣
If the only variable you change in your training is how much it weighs you’re missing out. ⁣

Yep, I do it all the time. ⁣
⁣
I call it purposeful intent. ⁣
⁣
Jerry’s shoulder area bothered him doing a single leg bridge press. ⁣
⁣
When I told him to push down harder with his foot, shoulder discomfort went away.⁣
⁣
He wanted to explain it back to me to make sure he understood. I asked him to repeat it once for camera.⁣
⁣
What can I help you with? ⁣

Lack of hip mobility causing pain elsewhere is an every day occurrence for me with golfers.⁣
⁣
Keeping your hips moving well goes a long way towards feeling better and playing better.⁣

🔑Holding weight on the unsupported side forces muscles on the stance leg to resist falling sideways. These are in the lateral hip and core⁣
⁣
👉🏼You don’t get that holding weights in both hands and you don’t get that holding on to something ⁣
⁣
👍🏼Doing a split squat w both feet on the ground as narrow as possible but as wide as necessary and the weight on the side opposite the front foot is a great alternative ⁣
