Join us to celebrate the first book by British photographer Jesse Glazzard, 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘋𝘪𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘉𝘦𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘺, for a special evening of drinks and conversation between the artist and art & culture writer Gem Fletcher.

Rooted in working-class experience and shaped by underground queer culture, Glazzard’s images combine portraiture and documentary, moving between intimate studio portraits and scenes of everyday life. Bodies, bedrooms, gatherings, fragments of diaries, and moments of tenderness are rendered with a raw immediacy that resists spectacle. Rather than presenting identity as a fixed category, the work allows people simply to appear as they are, reflecting a generation moving beyond rigid identity structures and embracing fluidity, experimentation, and chosen forms of belonging.

On Thursday 28 May, join us for an evening of film, photography and music to celebrate Liz Johnson Artur’s new video work ‘Lord of the Mics’, documenting the evolution of early grime.

Through a collage of photographs and video footage taken by @lizjohnsonartur in the early 2000s, ‘Lord of the Mics’ immortalises the key sites of grime across London from Deja Vu FM to Rhythm Division. The film — edited by @tabathabv — moves gradually from the intimate, DIY spaces of pirate radio stations onto the dance floors of Hackney and Leyton.
