We posted this a while back, with recent occurrences from officers across the nation it’s becoming more and more poignant. 169 serving police officers took their own lives between 2011 and 2019, with this averaging to approximately 21 deaths per year in the UK (ONS 2019). Th ONS currently doesn’t have complete data for 2020 to 2022. This averages at 21 deaths per year. The figures are also available for the wider emergency services and HMAF also. The reality is many of these deaths are preventable if caught in time, if support is given or sought. So we urge everyone to check on their mate, check on each other and remember you are not alone, people care, people are here to help, just reach out to someone. #police #policeofficer #mentalhealth #suicideprevention #policing #policefamily
