Choco is back home!⁣ ⁣ Just thought I'd update: ⁣ We lost Choco on Sunday and we've been searching for him in DTLA ever since. ⁣ To get him back we had a couple strategies. ⁣ ⁣ 1) Daytime we posted posters and ask around. I asked every person I saw in DTLA and talked to every encampment of unhoused folk to see if they had seen my lost dog.⁣ ⁣ 2) Nighttime we would camp/post up (vanlife) to the last place he was seen to keep our scent in the area in the hopes that Choco would hang around. We cooked the soup that I eat everyday (lazy pandemic cooking) as it has a distinct smell that Choco would recognize.⁣ ⁣ Tracking his location from all the kind and wonderful people that called to say they had just seen Choco, combined with the two strategies, I was able to get closer to his location each day! ⁣ ⁣ Ending the search I was behind him by minutes, and we got the call that some amazing (and hot) guys had seen him at their work place and we booked it. Choco was looking really scared, thin, and freaked out, but fortunately recognized us immediately. A tearful reunion, we took him home and started to nurse him back to health. After one night's rest he's already looking like his old self, though we booked an appointment with a vet. ⁣ He's home!⁣ ⁣ I'd like to thank everyone here who shared and offered help and support. The kindness truly kept us going when we were exhausted and down. I'm so truly grateful. ⁣ Thank you Choco for surviving in DTLA all alone for an entire week. A 15lb. mutt, somehow didnt get caught by anyone and kept himself alive. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to realize how much you mean to me. Thank you for gifting us the opportunity for us to meet countless total strangers who truly wanted the best for another being they have never met. Thank you for being so brave and looking for me, giving me the strength to look for you. ⁣ ⁣ I love you Choco!⁣ ⁣ -random note: ⁣ Making my rounds one night, I found a tarot card, no other cards in sight, right in my path, the Fool card. This is when I knew I was going crazy. Special thanks to every deity I prayed to. God, Ram, Maharaji, DMT elves, Ayahuasca serpent, etc. Finally @listen_a I love you!
