This one has been on my bucket list for a long time.

For my birthday, my family flew me across Cook Inlet to go razor clam digging near Tuxedni Bay, and it ended up being one of those days I’ll never forget. Between flying in with Mount Iliamna and Mount Redoubt out the window, digging on the lowest tide of the year, and spending the night cleaning and vacuum sealing 15 gallons of clams, it was the best kind of day in coastal Alaska!!

Some of my favorite childhood memories are tied to days like this. Not just the adventure itself, but the work that comes afterward. Everyone has a job, everyone pitches in, and at the end of it you have a freezer full of food that will feed your family all winter.

I’m really grateful my kids get to grow up making some of those same memories.

Happy birthday to me. Thank you to all that made it happen 🫶

Springtime in Alaska… ❤️ It’s not quite 40 below, but it’s every bit of 35 degrees with on and off snow! I was thrilled to see the sun come out for the first time yesterday since arriving here on Friday! ☀️ The @alaska.airmen’s Aviation Gathering event ends today, then it’s on to Valdez later in the week! 🤠🐻
