Had a total pinch-me moment last night

I stood on stage in The Crypt beneath St Martin-in-the-Fields to introduce the 18 piece jazz-army that is The Duke Street Big Band.

I shared with the packed audience that the venue celebrated its 300th Anniversary this week.

I cant even start to share what an honour it is to bring live music to this wonderful church.

I am in awe of their history, their outreach - their support of shell-shocked troops returning after WW1, the LGBTQ+ community, immigrants to our city, the homeless of London and all minorities.

Last night after introducing the band, I sat with the wonderful man who invited us to bring live music back to London after the first Covid lockdown. That was the summer of 2021 and we have been in The Courtyard, The Church and The Crypt so many times since.

We are but a moment in a story that started back in 1726, but I had to pinch myself, as its beautiful to be in that moment. ❤️
