One of the perks of being an indie act is that I get to decide what the hell a gig actually *is*

Roller-skating dancers? Yep. Spoken word? Absolutely. Stand-up comedy? Why not.

So for my cosy little night at @21soho.sq , London, Nov 4th w @talentbanq I put out a support callout and found the fab @chloewilsonuk recommended by local radio’s very own @jesserindm . And my pal @zhouning__ is joining us with some of her new stand-up material, a friend from Beijing who I somehow reconnected with years later by recognising her visual genius in an artist photo. (The algorithm occasionally does something useful)

I love getting to put brilliant women on a stage because their art is fucking good. Not because someone’s filling a quota, ticking a box or congratulating themselves for being inclusive. We’re just making our own shows in rooms that should’ve been making space for us all along.

Anyway. more badass art. More weird little nights where anything can happen.

**21Soho, London. Nov 4th. Come get cosy with us.** 🖤 ok now it’s back to dog-sitting x

Getting the heels and wig out to play! My alter ego Jazz hound “Ruby Rose” is back 🌹. November 28th I’ll be joining Ivory Pablo & The Blue Notes at The Crypt in @stmartininthefields for a set of full blown Jazz and Blues. I’ll also be playing a set with my band ♥️. This night was so fun last year - hope to see you there.
