Forever a work in progress 🪷 I want to be vulnerable here for a second, or five. In the weeks leading up to our one way flight out of Perth a few people had asked me “is there anything you’re afraid of?” or “what scares you about leaving?”. Reflecting back now, my answer was rational, it was a real genuine fear. I didn’t fear safety, or not making connections. I didn’t fear falling in love with new places and never wanting to go home. What I feared was falling out of love with myself, with the version of me that I had perceived to be the greatest version of me. The me that tracked each thing I put in my mouth, the me that exercised excessively and couldn’t rest until she’d burnt enough calories. The me that saw my shrinking body as a reason to be worthy of my own love. What I didn’t realise about this love was that it was conditional. I would be okay, everything would be okay so long as that version of me existed. It has taken me leaving my home, and along with that my comforts and my control and that version of me to truly understand the conditions of my own love. I have been confronted with excruciating pain. To become aware of the distorted reality, to realise the joy that is being robbed from me every day, to notice the urge within me to go back. To return home and re engage with the behaviours that made me worthy and to give up on exploring the world with the person I love so dearly. I am on a brand new journey here, a journey towards unconditional self love.

7 weeks in the Philippines 🇵🇭 Finding calm amongst the chaos. Peace in the panic. From days on isolated island paradise, snorkelling dreamy coral gardens and WW1 shipwrecks, to navigating through the madness of smoke filled streets that are overrun with tricycles and tourists. A little visual insight to life lately
