I don't read books at all. But lately, I've been feeling like it's time I start. I came across a reel on Instagram where she was reading The Gifts of Imperfection by Brené Brown, where she talks about the myth of scarcity, drawing from Lynne Twist's The Soul of Money. Something about it stayed with me. I've been wanting to share how I've been feeling lately, and more importantly, I've been wanting to move forward from it. The phrase “reverie of lack” I liked these words enough to turn them into this digital artwork. I even wrote the phrase in Korean because why not? For the drama lol. What is reverie? It's a kind of daydream, being lost in your thoughts. Lack is the feeling that something is missing. Together, it felt like a pretty accurate description of where my mind has been lately. Missing time. Missing progress. Missing knowledge. Missing discipline. Missing faith. Missing the version of myself I think I should already be. Time's moving superr fast. There are so many things I want to learn, build and accomplish that I end up overwhelmed by everything instead of actually moving. Then I distract myself, and somehow days become weeks and months. I wasn't like this before. Something changed, and it's frustrating and honestly a little hurtful to think about. But maybe it's time I stop thinking about why and start doing something about it. Practicing gratitude is such a joyful feeling because we are so incredibly blessed, yet somehow we forget. I'm also trying to remind myself that, from an Islamic perspective, worldly success isn't the measure of real success. Allah says in Surah Al-'Asr that mankind is in loss except those who believe, do righteous deeds, encourage one another toward truth and encourage one another toward patience. There's also this Hadith, The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever among you wakes up in the morning secure in his dwelling, healthy in his body, having his food for the day, then it is as if the world has been gathered for him.” Hadith reference: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2346 How do we ever feel lacking after hearing this? Continued in comments.

Instead of inviting a room full of 6-figure earners and 6-figure businesses, we wanted to create a room full of women who were **becoming her.** 90 women-owned startups. Women launching for the first time. Women who have been building quietly for years. Women who came simply because they had a dream they weren’t ready to give up on. Yes, we had successful entrepreneurs and 6-figure earners in the room too. But they weren’t there to make anyone feel small. They were there to show what’s possible. Because hearing someone say, “I made 6 figures,” can be impressive. But seeing a woman who is just a few steps ahead of youcan make you think: *Maybe I can do this too.* Maybe I can start the business. Maybe I can finally launch. Maybe I can take my dream seriously. We wanted women to leave this room thinking less about incomeand more about **progress.** Because success looks different for everyone. For one woman, it might be 6 figures and a thriving business. For another, it might be booking that first flight without worrying about the cost. Being able to create passive income for her children. Affording a cleaner. Sending her kids to an Islamic school. Being able to say, “I can finally take my family for Umrah.” Giving in charity every month. And if your dream is to build a 6-figure business and leave an impact — that’s beautiful too. There is no one definition of success. We just wanted to create a room where a Muslim woman could look around and think: She’s not so different from me.” And then go home and start. Because sometimes, you don’t need to see someone who has already made it. *You just need to see someone who started.🤍 — SalaamGirls Founder: Homayra A huge thank you to everyone who made this event possible and especially @muslichiyat_inc for the vendor coordination and planning. Brilliant post by @tamaniaaa who touches on how Anger is an indicator of our readiness for marriage. But it goes beyond seeing that in ourselves. There are psychological hacks that will reveal if someone is prone to toxic anger before they even show it to you. Our program reveals all the secrets so you can avoid marrying someone who shows you their good side and you end up trapped in an angry toxic marriage. Gratitude feels like an often overlooked factor in health and wellbeing. Research shows that gratitude not only improves psychological wellbeing, but actually has a physical effect, reducing inflammation and improving cardiovascular outcomes. Gratitude activates certain brain areas and neural networks, boosting serotonin and dopamine.

What a visual! Moving forward needs activity. We have gotten so good at consuming that we lack the ability to create action. That's because passively consuming takes real energy. The real exhaustion after scrolling for an hour. Why? Because our mind has just rode the wave of SOMEONE ELSES EXPERIENCE. But because we watched and consumed the visual….we have expended energy BUT WE HAVENT HAD AN ACTUAL ACTIVE EXPERIENCE. Today-take some ACTIVE ACTION and actually slow down and EXPERIENCE the moment. U will realize that consuming has become a pattern but ACTIVITY IS THE KEY! #Action #goalsetting #focus #2026

Kamal's jago 💚 Long before digital invitations or group chats, you would announce a wedding with a parade through the village after dark. It's called a jago which literally means wake up! Inviting your neighbors to wake up and join the party. There are dance circles with women singing comedic, mischievous boliyan (couplets) passed down through generations. Dancing with huge clay pots lit up with candles on their heads (obvi not clay or candles anymore). Making noise with decorated sticks and breaking the chajj (a wicker basket) in celebration. Everyone is dressed in their most colourful heavily embroidered shawls and suits. You could never convince me to drop these rich, cultural, community traditions for a "small wedding"
