POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

If you remember a time before the dawn of smart phones, you may not be super comfy taking photos of yourself. I look at Gen Z pouting into a digital device before they can talk and think, this is a generation that aren't afraid of their own reflection. But is that a bad thing?

@tamar_hersko popped over for a styling session which was so easy beacuase this woman is bursting with personal style. To demonstrate, she arrived with her own geniune cowboy boots. I then took photos of her which was also super easy because you have never met a more photogenic photographer.

And then I hadn't really thought about the photos she was going to take of me. We just kind of flowed, but I was defintely not prepared for these photos of myself.

Past 40, you're bound to have a few hang ups about the way you look. But there's something actually so freeing about radically accepting, yup. This is me. This is the way I look and it's a body that's given me a lot so if Gen Z has something to teach my generation, it's yes, pout those lips, look into the lense, and accept thy self!

Endless thank yous to Tamar for these. What a talent.

As we prepare to stand before Hashem on Rosh Hashanah, maybe the question isn’t what title we hold, how accomplished we look, or even how others see us.

Maybe the question is: What are we carrying?

Responsibility. Kindness. Integrity. Someone who needs us. The values we live by when no one is watching.

Some people carry impressive titles.

Others quietly carry worlds. ❤️

This year, I want to focus a little less on how I’m seen—and a little more on what I’m bringing into the world.

So tell me: What do YOU want to carry into the new year?

It takes a team to bring the light of women to the world. Thank you for the best day modeling for Glimmer Magazine - with a little karaoke to raise the vibration.

Six years ago, I pressed “post.”

Friday night at the Kotel, a stranger reminded me that our words can keep traveling long after we’ve forgotten we said them. ❤️

Has something someone said ever stayed with you for years? Tell me below. 👇

We often think freedom means having no boundaries.

But Parshat Re’eh reminds us that the deepest connections need anchors.

Prayer. Shabbat. Torah. Mitzvot.

Not because Hashem wants to restrict our connection—but because He wants us to have something steady enough to hold onto when inspiration fades.

Because feelings fluctuate. Emotions come and go.

But an anchor keeps us connected. 🤍

If we can find our AirPods… imagine how Hakadosh Baruch Hu finds a Jewish soul.

Last night, before Tisha B’Av, I shared a mashal that has stayed with me.

We live in a world where we’ve become accustomed to pressing a button and hearing our lost AirPods begin to ring.

So I wondered…

If human beings have the ability to create that technology, how much more so can Hakadosh Baruch Hu awaken a Jewish neshama?

Perhaps one day, every Jewish soul will hear that unmistakable call:

“It’s time to come home.”

As we approach Tisha B’Av, may our hearts become just a little more sensitive to that call. May we merit the rebuilding of the Beit HaMikdash and the day when all of Am Yisrael comes home together.

What did this mashal make you think about?

The “hook” of a speech is never just a clever opening. The best hooks tell people what matters most to the speaker. They reveal the speaker’s heart.

Moshe could have started anywhere. Forty years of miracles. Egypt. The splitting of the sea. Matan Torah. Creation. Avraham. Instead, he intentionally chooses stories that prepare the people for where they are going, not where they have been.

That’s exactly what authentic speaking is.
The greatest speakers don’t speak from their notes.
They speak from their heart.
And that is what Moshe did!

Last week, in the middle of a podcast interview, a Torah insight and a life lesson collided.

Yaakov is described as both afraid and distressed before meeting Esav. The Rabbis explain that he feared being killed, but he also feared having to kill others.

And suddenly I realized…

These are often the two fears behind our silence.

Sometimes we’re afraid of being rejected, criticized, or attacked for speaking our truth.

And sometimes we’re afraid our words will hurt someone else.

We remain quiet not because we lack a voice, but because we’re standing between two vulnerabilities.

The goal isn’t to avoid speaking.

The goal is to learn how to speak with honesty, courage, and compassion.

Which fear do you relate to more: hurting others or being hurt yourself?
