Looking back at a special project as Vince DeVito’s Shoes & DeVito’s Shoe Repair celebrates 100 years in business this year.

With the next generation preparing to take the lead, the family saw an opportunity to expand into the neighbouring space and create something that honours the history of DeVito’s while looking to its future.

Working alongside @rammcustombuild, we created a warm, welcoming space designed for everything from classic work boots to dress shoes and runners.

One of our favourite details is the solid fir flooring, beautifully stained by @hardwoodsamurai. It brings so much warmth and character to the space... and will only get better with age,

A century of history, thoughtfully carried into its next chapter.

We've kept this under wraps for a while, but it's time to share some big news.

Incredible momentum has been building on our new specialized glulam manufacturing facility, and construction is nearing completion – the structure is topped out, the enclosure is being installed, and equipment is being commissioned.

This is the next chapter in what began 40 years ago when we set out to be trailblazers in timber construction. Every investment we've made since has been in service of that goal, and this expansion is the latest step: the building, the people, and the technology behind it are pushing what's possible in our industry. We're honouring our roots while investing in our future.

To the architects, engineers, builders, and clients we've grown alongside over the years: you've asked, and we're delivering. This investment is for you and your projects, and we couldn't be more excited to elevate what we can build together.

Glulam comes in Q1 2027.

Lakeside Residence // Primary Bedroom

We love a moody bedroom, especially one with a front-row seat to the lake.

A little moody, a little cozy, and the perfect place to unwind.

Lakehouse Residence // Kitchen

Built around material contrast and quiet balance.

Custom-stained dark oak cabinetry, lake-inspired blue zellige tile, and a restrained neutral palette that allows the space to feel grounded rather than heavy.

While there’s depth in the materials, the overall effect is calm and timeless... designed to feel lived in, not loud.

Not every project needs to start from scratch.

For these clients, choosing a prefabricated approach meant simplifying the process from day one.

Choosing BHC meant they were able to maintain the architectural integrity of a custom home, while much of the design thinking and logistics were already resolved. This allowed them to focus on what truly matters to them, without getting lost in the complexity of the process.

From streamlined delivery to efficient on-site assembly, BHC builds differently, with a process that is clearer, faster, and more intentional from the start.
