Sometimes a project starts with an unusual ask: make a violin levitate in the middle of the forest. @tonewood.live came to us with an idea for a film to launch Natasha’s Kickstarter campaign. The campaign’s purpose was to raise awareness and funding for a project rooted in the connection between music, craftsmanship, nature and healing. At the heart of it is the story of a rare specialty wood found in northern Italy that contributes to the sound of handcrafted violins, and how that story connects back to Natasha’s work creating forest-based musical retreat experiences. Our job was to bring that idea to life in a way that felt like the project itself: quiet, immersive and a little unexpected. The concept? One continuous push through an old-growth forest, a violin floating amongst the trees, and Natasha stepping into frame to play. Making a violin levitate was the fun part. Making it feel like it belonged there was the real challenge, but of course, we made it happen. Swipe to see the final cut 📹 by @tamarack__

Absolute Contracting has been building in Revelstoke since 2007 — mostly known for high-end custom homes. But behind the scenes, they’ve built a lot more than that. They’ve grown into having an in-house civil division, their own tower cranes and scaffolding, and pre-construction systems built to handle much larger projects than most people would perceive. We helped them transition from custom home builder to construction management partners. Check out the full project at the link in bio. Guilty as charged. We have a type. It’s architecture. We see light moving across a room. The way a window frames a mountain. The feeling of walking through a space that’s been carefully considered from every angle. The Light House by @the_mbac is one of our personal favourites. Tucked into a sloping site in Nelson, BC, the home unfolds as you move through it, welcoming the changing light throughout the day and using bold moments of colour to frame views of Elephant Mountain and Kootenay Lake. Those are the moments we can’t help but chase with a camera. When architecture is this intentional, the photography should be too. If this were your home, which space would you spend the most time in? Fifty years is a long time for a brand to mean something to a community. The goal was never to replace that history, but to update the system so it's capable of carrying moving forward. For @whitewatermountainresort, that meant evolving from a ski resort identity into a mountain resort brand built for every season. We refreshed the visual identity, developed a responsive logo system and created a flexible brand that could work everywhere from campaign creative to merchandise - while still feeling unmistakably Whitewater. With the expansion into being a summer resort destination we also had to make sure there was a connection between Whitewater's identity and their Hummingbird Lodge identity. Honour what the community built. Then give it room to grow. Read the full case study on our website, or reach out through the link in our bio. Shoutout @itskikicreative for all the hard work on this one! It's rad seeing the brand everywhere in our day to day around Nelson! by @tamarack__

Pack up the bikes, cue up the playlist, and point the wheels toward Nakusp.
Just 8km up the road you’ll find Mt. Abriel — a forested trail network where the ride starts with the journey and ends with a splash in the lake. With trails for all levels (yes, even adaptive riders), a campground with mountain views, and the kind of low-key energy that makes you want to stay longer than you planned — Abriel is the kind of place that reminds you why you fell in love with biking in the first place. Whether it’s your first time on dirt or your hundredth descent, this is a ride worth driving for. 📌 Save this for your next ride weekend. . . . #nakuspbc #visitarrowslocan #mtb #downhillbiking #downhillmountainbiking #bikebc #mtabriel #arrowlakes #biking #adaptivemountainbiking #mountainbikelifestyle #trails #explorebc #hellobc #westkootenays #bcroadtrip by @tamarack__

Little case study on a job we did with @cityofpentictonofficial. We love helping our clients go from strategy through to production and then to distribution. Ties it all together so nicely when our team at Tamarack + our collaborators can essentially act as an extension of our clients in house marketing teams. As always we’re super greatful to have such talented people in our corner. If you don’t know any of this crew make sure you check them out! Life’s a trip. Challenging us both mentally and physically. The beginning, middle, and end all equal parts. Along that path, we’re forced into shape - cut, carved, drenched, torn, toast, broken, triumphant - ultimately unveiling our true character. We eventually realize that all that’s left is to enjoy the ride. Experiencing life with our friends and family, alongside nature is all that matters. And through Alex’s story and passion for riding we learn that there’s Nothing Better than that. Link in our bio for the full film on YouTube.
