Last night at Create! Magazine’s 10th anniversary celebration at @paradigmgs Paradigm Gallery + Studio in Old City, we were treated to stacks of back issues to take home. And every time I opened one, there was another of my girl gang! And another. And another!!! 💕

There were delicious treats, adorable matchboxes, tote bags, and enough magazines to justify the magazine rack I recently bought. The matchboxes are going straight onto my girl-gang shrine, where I’ll use them to light my intention candles. Naturally. 🕯️

I was featured in the Summer 2025 issue (#52), and holding all those copies brought back a memory from Moore College of Art & Design @thegalleriesatmoore (Moore was the only all-women’s art college in the world, but since they went co-ed this year you can’t tag them anymore LOL #moorecollegeofartanddesign). I was at a classmate’s apartment, flipping through a copy of Juxtapoz on her coffee table, wondering what it would feel like to be one of the artists in those pages.

Now I’m looking at entire issues filled with girl friends I know, admire, collaborate with, collect, & exhibit alongside.

On my flight to Paris for the soirée of @spiritual_noir Spiritual Noir exhibit, I read about the suffrage movement. Some British suffragettes bombed government buildings; others marched, organized, and were jailed or ostracized. In the U.S., the 19th Amendment was ratified in 1920. Create! was founded just 96 years later. 💣 💥 rawr, girl, rawr!

I think about my immigrant great-grandmother and the generations of women who fought to make possible our own livelihoods, institutions, businesses, publications, and communities. Thank you for your service, great grand girlies 💘

Women have their own galleries, own magazines, own collections, networks, and economies. We mentor one another, commission one another, buy one another’s work, and make room for the next woman.
You can’t gatekeep women out of the arts when the girls have built their own castle.🏰

To my beautiful global sorority: every time one of us takes a step forward, the rest of us can imagine something bigger. Keep up the high stepping my princesses and queens ✨

«За пределами видимого»: новая выставка современного искусства в Upside Кунцево

В общественных пространствах бизнес-центра Upside Кунцево открылась новая выставка «За пределами видимого», организованная Upside Девелопмент совместно с галереей @robineau_gallery под кураторством Валентины Робино.

Экспозиция объединила живопись, скульптуры и инсталляции 11 российских и зарубежных художников из Китая, России, США, Австралии и Доминиканской Республики. Их работы исследуют границы между реальностью и воображением, предлагая взглянуть на привычные образы с неожиданной стороны.

Здесь архитектура становится отражением культурной памяти, а природные мотивы превращаются в сюрреалистические сюжеты.

«Искусство в деловой среде выполняет далеко не только декоративную функцию, оно вдохновляет, помогает мыслить и творить», — отмечает Анастасия Перлина, шеф-дизайнер Upside Девелопмент и креативный директор Upside Lab.

Выставка продолжает культурную программу Upside Девелопмент, которая делает современное искусство частью повседневной жизни и позволяет ненадолго отвлечься от рабочего ритма.

Still dreaming about last night in Tribeca ✨ I had such an terrific evening celebrating the launch of The Untitled Magazine’s DREAM Issue and The DREAM Exhibition at The Untitled Space @untitledspaceny . I saw many familiar faces, made so many wonderful new friends, and there was so much beautiful and surreal work, and I have to give a special mention to the cake girl sculpture by @arielletesoriero , which was the most drool worthy piece there imo!

Thank you so much to Indira Cesarine @indiraartist for including my work in this beautiful exhibition and collector’s issue. It is such a pleasure to be among the talented artists and creatives brought together around imagination, memory, fantasy, and the subconscious.

I couldn’t stay for the after party because this morning I was already off to the airport for Paris, where I’m celebrating with Jacqueline LaDivine @jacqueline.la.divine for the inauguration of Spiritual Noir exhibition.

From Tribeca to Montmartre, it has been a very dreamy 24 hours. 🥂✨

Tania Marmolejo,”Your Summer Friends”, 2026, Oil on linen. 49h x 78w in.
Influenced by her Scandinavian and Caribbean heritage, Tania Marmolejo studied Graphic Design and Illustration in Norway and returned to the Dominican Republic to study Fine Arts at the Altos de Chavon School of Design. In 1998, she received the Bludhorn Scholarship, and continued her studies at Parsons The New School for Design, New York, graduating with a degree in Fine Arts and Illustration in 2000.

She began her artistic career as an illustrator for the fashion and lifestyle sections of Obsidiana magazine in New York. During those years, she also designed characters and backgrounds for MTV, PBS, Hyperion / Disney and Scholastic Books among others, as part of Data Motion Arts studios, receiving various ASIFA and CINE awards.

In 2005 Tania joined the group of artists at MadArts Studios in Brooklyn, New York, where she participated in several group exhibitions. Since then, her work has been exhibited in numerous collective national and international exhibitions, representing The Dominican Republic in several Iberoamerican Art Salons in Washington DC.
