Day 21 of 30 Strength Tips for Runners 🏃‍♂️💨

Today: Single Leg Hip Extension with Knee Grab

3 sets of 30-45 seconds each side

Running requires your glutes to fire on command while your pelvis stays completely level. This movement isolates the hip drive while reinforcing proper core and pelvic alignment.

Why it works:

✅ Glute Activation: Forces the working glute to drive hip extension entirely on its own without compensation from the lower back.

✅ Pelvic Stability: Pulling the opposite knee to your chest locks out your lumbar spine and prevents the pelvis from rotating.

✅ Stride Mechanics: Mimics the single leg stance phase of running where you must produce force while keeping your hips square.

MDE showed up at the Ryan Shay Mile!

@run_kayt led MDE’s podium finishes, placing second in 4:32.7. What a race for her after winning the Raspberry Mile!
On the men’s side, @adamthebrohon battled all the way to the line to earn third place in 3:52.2, a three-second personal best from a year ago. @braxbru finished 12th in 3:57.9, breaking the four-minute barrier for the first time in his career. @tanner_maier fought hard to finish in 4:09.

What a day for the crew!
