Sunday, I got to perform the running woman for my mom and @tansychau and it was so special. As much as I love having family and friends in the crowd I also hate it because it makes me that much more nervous. 😅

This role still feel very new so the nerves are very present at the top of the show before I go out and run on the giant treadmill. Soon after that, the adrenaline slowly leaves my body and I feel more comfortable on stage.

Do you enjoy having family and friends watching you perform?

Today I stepped up to 2min run/ 1min walk intervals for 15 mins. No dramas and felt great!

It feels so great to be running again. I smiled like a kid on Christmas morning for the whole 15mins 🤣😁😀

Thanks @tansychau for the reminder during the week to stick to the plan. I’m terrible for doing more than I should when the adrenaline gets pumping 🤣 It helped a lot!

See you on the next one!

Remember - Smile, it’s supposed to be hard!! 😀

Love Ya’s!!

Donated blood today! Wasn't able to do it back in August because I hadn't repatriated for long enough (minimum 3 weeks for my situation) ❤️💉

The GiveBlood app now has fun selfie frames haha!🖼️🤳📷

1. At the clinic with long weekend frame
2. Be nice to me! Frame
3. Cute blood drop stress ball
4. In it for the snacks, let's be real

Highest hemoglobin count and fastest bleed time yet! 💪💪

Sidebar:
IG, get your cropping situation together. This is annoying! Haha. Also, terribly annoying that it sends a DM to anyone you tag, indicating that you've tagged them. Been on forums to see how to fix this but have yet to find a working solution 👎👎

It happens on Facebook too, but oddly only for some folks and not others...

Amazing hangout session with @rope_access_maintenance_inc ! Thanks for a great time!

Tried out some new gear and a new manoeuvre:

THE VERTICAL AID CLIMB!!

Was pretty tricky at first but got shown some hot tips and it's actually not bad! As with many of the manoeuvres, it's all about technique!

Excited and nervous to share the beginnings of a new project called Wish You Were Here. This text is taken from the “Projects” tab on my website, where you can view the prints part of this first collection. Prints available in the website store!

“Wish You Were Here is a text and image project in the form of postcards. The images are observations made during my travels and daily life over the past 5 years. The project looks to form new connections with strangers through reflections on my own images and memories.

Living in a remote location like Hawai’i, the great physical distance from “the mainland” sometimes conjures feelings of loneliness, separation and bittersweet memories of the people and places I’ve visited. While the act of engaging with the project explores themes of impermanence, release, memory and human connection, the images on the postcards themselves range from landscapes, to daily life to social documentary to abstractions.

The postcards are one of a kind 4x6” silver gelatin prints, printed in my darkroom at home in Maui from my own archive of negatives. Rather than being packed safely in an envelope, they are simply mailed as postcards.
Leaving the delivery to chance engages the recipient and myself in an exercise of trust and release. When will it arrive? Will it arrive? What shape will it be in when it gets here?

This project offers me the chance to materialize particular images and themes held in my mind for some time, while being able to share them in an interactive way. A less immediate iteration of the “image and caption”.

When ordered, the postcards are chosen at random for each recipient. The reverse side of the postcard will have a stamp, the recipient’s address, and a personal note either describing the image, what I remember from the day I took the picture, a diary entry from that day, or what it makes me think of.

This project was inspired by a good friend who diligently sent postcards from each city she visited while on tour with a performance theatre company.”
