The Road to Chaco Canyon: Part II ☀️

As guides, we walk not to explain—but to invite.
At the Rock of the Sun, we pause. A petroglyph possibly marking the eclipse of 1097 speaks across centuries.

Our mentor GB Cornucopia explains:
“There could be many interpretations… but whatever it is, it was important enough to carve in stone.”

Dr. Cherilynn Morrow reminded us to guide through all six senses—including the inner one, where meaning is felt, not taught.

We don’t just lead tours—we hold space for transformation.
To slow down.
To see with the whole self.
To remember that mystery isn’t something to solve—it’s something to walk with.

Chaco teaches through presence.
The land speaks if we listen.

🌶🌶🌶 Holiday Spice... and everything nice! December is here! And it is such a special time, one I look forward to when the mornings get frosty and the days start to sparkle inviting walks with the pups and something warm inside upon return.

For me, the holidays are in large part about reflection. And you've given me lots to think about! This year I've learned so much both personally and professionally from my team and my guests, as well as the places we hold so dear here in northern New Mexico.

The affirmation that people can find what they're looking for in our tours -- more than just beautiful photos or souvenirs, but knowledge, skills, memories and experiences that stay with them long after they return home -- propels us at Heritage Inspirations. It's what we have taken away from our year in the field and will inform what's coming in 2025.

With this in mind, we celebrate being together by breaking bread with family and friends old and new, and close out the year's good times and sometimes challenging ones together with an outlook to the new and what's next. Yes, now is the time to celebrate the gift of experiences!

There were so many magical encounters on our last journey to Chaco Canyon wrapping up our Glamping season ✨️ Dining in the wild is always a highlight with Chef Josh @jwillette culinary creativity and the solar lit tent beneath the Mesa is forever etched in our memories.

Our glowy Sunrise Hike started with a ☄️ Comet sighting! The Belt of Venus reflections, cozy Glamping vibes all around!

From dawn to dusk, sunrise to sunset, sun to stars this New Moon Glamping Excursion was stunning 🔭🪐🌠🌌 Our newest addition of inviting our Cultural Astronomer weaves in an immersive and intimate journey with the Night Sky and all it's majesty. Chaco Canyon has always been a place of storytelling. It's an honor to continue these traditions on our tours and learn from each other's experiences exploring the Great Houses.

Chef @sucasadiningtaos broke out our Cowboy Grill cooking perfection. Cacao elixir from Maya Rose. Sunrise hike witnessing the belt of Venus and stillness of the San Juan Basin as the sun casts the first light on Fajada Butte, all a religious encounter.
