Happy Birthday to my amazing and gorgeous friend! @malliepierucci you are such a gem to me and one of the best parts of marrying into the family. You have been such an encouraging person that reminds me not to overthink, don’t over do, and live simply. Well, as long as there’s buffalo dip and snacks to help pass time. 😉 I love that our time is mostly spent in laughter. And even though @tap_rack87 would say “family aren’t friends,” 😜 I consider you my BFC(Best Friend Cousin). I hope your day is amazing and I can’t wait to celebrate with you next week! Love you!! 😘 😘 🎉🎂🥳🎈

EXPECTATION VS REALITY.
-
The goal for any good teacher, coach, and/or instructor is to present students to principles and concepts that either support or refute what they’re advocating for or against. The goal is to expose them to information, techniques and practices, that in-turn, help develop their ability to perform a given task or tasks.

Having realistic expectations is critical to our individual growth and development. Many students come to classes with the unrealistic expectation of leaving instantly better…

In order for students and athletes to grow and further develop a given skill to a degree of subconscious competency, requires the application of “homework.” This is where most students fail. Attending a class, be it as beneficial as it may be, is truly the easy part. The hard part is the difficulty of exercising the discipline of making the time to consistently pursue growth in said skill. Incorporating honest practice and training outside and in-between courses is where true growth happens. - @david.acosta.jr

HAVE THE CONVERSATION WITH YOURSELF.
-
Understand that Deadly Force is that force which a reasonable person would consider likely to cause death or serious bodily harm. Its use may be justified only under conditions of extreme necessity, when all lesser means have failed or cannot reasonably be employed. An individual may be authorized to use deadly force only when deadly force reasonably appears to be necessary to protect the one who reasonably believes himself or herself to be in imminent danger of death or serious bodily harm.
-
In our 2 Day Defensive Pistol Courses @david.acosta.jr covers in detail this topic to set our students up for success.

If you know what it is than you know what it isn’t. This is crucial when identifying what constitutes deadly force. @david.acosta.jr goes into great detail on this topic in the 2 Day Active Shooter Response & the 2 Day Defensive Pistol Courses.

Great weekend learning with @david.acosta.jr for @achillesheeltactical 2 day defensive pistol this past weekend at @benfranklinrange

Always helpful to look back at photos and videos along with notes from courses to see areas I have improved and areas I can continue to improve.

Lucky to be surrounded by amazing like mind individuals to push me to be better and expand my knowledge base.

Get out there and train and get better every day. Become an asset to yourself and your family not a liability. Thanks to @john.shoyer for the photos and @sikharmory for the video

SKILL BUILDING WEEKEND!
-
We just wrapped up another 2-Day Defensive Pistol Course along with 5 other training courses this past weekend in Pennsylvania @benfranklinrange

In this course @david.acosta.jr and his students spent the weekend developing what right looks like when learning to use a pistol in defense of human life.

@david.acosta.jr covers this curriculum from a principles-based approach and introduced concepts that are based on logic and reason in consideration of supporting said principles. The right to defend yourself and others from wicked violence is a God-given and therefore inalienable right. It is also a massive responsibility that we should never take lightly.
