❤️⚾️ OUR COMMUNITY SHOWED UP ⚾️❤️

The 12U AVENGERS took care of business yesterday! These boys rolled up their sleeves, washed A LOT of cars, and the response was incredible 🤯

We set a goal of $5,000… and you helped us blow that goal out of the {very soapy} water!

The Avengers are about more than baseball—teamwork, hard work, and COMMUNITY. Yesterday, our friends, family, fans, and neighbors showed these boys exactly what community means❤️

These boys have an exciting season ahead, including plans to take the Avengers Brotherhood on the road to Arizona for an out-of-state tournament 🌵⚾️ Your generosity will also help us invest in upgraded equipment to give this awesome group of athletes everything they need for a successful season!

Yesterday was powerful.

Brunch with Black Men @brunchwithablackman at the Tacoma Urban League created something that we don’t always make enough room for: Black men being vulnerable, honest, reflective, and fully present with one another.

As someone who advises leaders, organizations, and communities, I’m reminded that sometimes leadership isn’t about having the answer. It’s about creating the space for people to be heard, challenged, connected—and sometimes, to release what they’ve been carrying.

That concept of release is deeply connected to the philosophy of Dr. @tafonaervin and Unconventional Healing, and yesterday was another reminder of why creating intentional spaces for truth and reflection matters.

Thank you to the Tacoma Urban League Board, Phyliss McElroy, Board President, Shareka Fortier @lovelymoreno_ , Board Vice President, and Miracle @miujizammilagro our facilitator, for creating and holding this space.

I’m grateful to have been part of the conversation, and I’m looking forward to hosting and holding more spaces like this soon.

There is important work ahead in our community. And I’m grateful to be part of the work.

Bring your own blankets, chairs and snacks a little before 8pm! The movie starts at dusk, once it’s dark enough to see the screen.

A wealthy entrepreneur secretly creates a theme park featuring living dinosaurs drawn from prehistoric DNA. Before opening day, he invites a team of experts and his two eager grandchildren to experience the park and help calm anxious investors. However, the park is anything but amusing as the security systems go off-line and the dinosaurs escape.
