We’ve been working on something a little different at ASP.

ASP Afterglow is officially happening Friday, October 16.

We ran the course this week, and it’s unlike anything we’ve done before.

5-Stand under the lights.
UV clays glowing as they leave the thrower
A completely different look once the sun goes down.

Shooting starts around 7:30 PM.

Rounds are $15, and ASP members can use their punch cards.

We’ll have food, snacks and soft drinks available all night. More importantly, we'll have shells for sale all night as well, including Federal Cosmic shotshells, which have wads that glow under the black lights as you shoot.

Bring your crew. Come grab some food. Hang out as the sun goes down. Then step into the lights and shoot a round of 5-Stand like you’ve never shot it before.

Friday, October 16.

Save the date and book your spot now:

Get your crew together, pick your time, and come see what Afterglow is all about.

We’ll see you after dark.

I cannot thank Field & Stream enough for inviting me to Vidalia, Georgia, for my first dove hunt ever. Going into the weekend I was nervous as hell. Everyone else had been bird hunting and shooting for years, and I had never shot a bird in my life. I felt like the odd duck out, or I guess the odd dove out. I didn’t know if I would fit in, but everyone quickly made me feel like I belonged.

Steve Gould taught me how to properly mount a shotgun, keep both eyes open and focus on the bird instead of aiming like I always had with one eye closed. Then somehow my first dove hunt was alongside Olympic shooter Dania Vizzi. Two doves flew in, she shot one and I shot the other. I’ll never forget that moment. Mackenzie was freaking awesome too. She was quick to laugh, always part of the fun and absolutely killed it shooting. Dania’s husband, Mike, was also there and was a great guy to get to know. Steve and I even tag teamed a nearly 300-pound boar using night vision, and I caught a nice largemouth bass off the dock.

The entire Stanley family welcomed us to Stanley Lodge like we were family. Jason and Matt did a ton of cooking, Jason’s sister helped one night, and every meal was amazing. Matt also kept the cameras, batteries and microphones ready and even nailed an extensive drink menu. James and Katie helped make this trip possible, Kelsey was there with Field & Stream, and James brought together exactly what the weekend was meant to be: hunting, fishing, great food, laughter and real friendships. It was awesome seeing the crew behind the cameras again, along with Cody and Nina, who I’ve known for years. Had I never met Jason Wilson, I don’t think I would have ever had this opportunity. I arrived feeling like the odd dove out and left feeling like part of a community. I truly believe lifelong friendships were made in Georgia, and I hope this was only the beginning.

When the sun goes down, the range usually goes quiet. But new Federal Cosmic changes that. With a Podium wad, shell printing and packaging that glow under UV, it's built specifically to light up nighttime clays courses.

We’ve been working in the dark to bring a little extra "glow" to your evening clay sessions. If you thought dusk meant packing up, you might want to rethink your night vision. Tune in tomorrow! 💫
