Heyyy, so I know I’ve been VERY bad at life updates… because I haven’t even posted that I OWN A DANCE STUDIO now?!
So… hi. I’m the owner of DivaDance Orlando.

And this week, something happened that made me stop for a second and realize just how much has happened and how proud I should be.

DivaDance Orlando had our FIRST. EVER. LIVE. PERFORMANCE.

We were invited to the Orlando Gay Chorus’s 18+ Uncut Cabaret to CLOSE OUT ACT ONE with our own routine AND dance in the opening number to “Unholy” while the chorus sang LIVE!

We pulled this thing together in no time. Only four rehearsals over one week. ONE run-through in the actual space before showtime.

And then I stood there, surrounded by this incredible group of people who, just a few months ago, were complete strangers to one another. People who were nervous just to walk through the doors of their very first dance class. And now, here they were, stepping onto a stage TOGETHER, not as strangers, but as friends, and absolutely KILLING IT.
And THAT part got me.

Because this has become so much bigger than dance.
When I brought DivaDance to Orlando, I wanted to create a place where adults could show up exactly as they are. You don’t have to be a “dancer,” look a certain way, have a certain body, age, gender, or skill level. Just show up, dance your ass off, make friends, build confidence, and find people who genuinely want to see you win.
And that’s what’s actually happening.

Watching these Divas hype each other up backstage, share costume pieces, laugh through nerves, cheer each other on, and walk onto that stage with SO much confidence made me ridiculously proud. I’m so overwhelmed with emotion.

Building this business has been one of the hardest, scariest, most chaotic things I’ve ever done — but moments like this remind me why I did it.

I’m so insanely proud of this community.
I’m so unimaginably proud of these Divas.
And if THIS is what our first few months look like… I cannot wait to see what’s next.

So here’s my very overdue life update:
Hi. I own DivaDance Orlando. (The biggest franchise launch to date, btw🫣😭)
And we’re just getting started.

🥂💖🌟WE DID IT, DIVAS!!! 😭🔥💖

✨DivaDance Orlando’s FIRST. EVER. LIVE. PERFORMANCE!!! 💃✨

🎭We CLOSED OUT ACT ONE of the Orlando Gay Chorus’s annual 18+ UNCUT Cabaret! 🥵🔥

✨As if that wasn’t exciting enough, we were ALSO invited to join the Orlando Gay Chorus for their opening number, performing to “Unholy” while the chorus sang LIVE! 🤯

🫰We put this ENTIRE performance together in just FOUR rehearsals, with only ONE run-through in the actual performance space before showtime! 😅

💖And these Divas?! THEY ABSOLUTELY ATE. THEY LEFT NO CRUMBS. 💅🔥

🥰 We cannot even begin to express how incredibly proud we are of every single person who stepped onto that stage. The confidence, the energy, the teamwork, the commitment… but even more than that, the way everyone showed up for EACH OTHER. 🥹💖

👯‍♀️Hyping each other up. Lending costume pieces. Helping with last-minute details. Laughing through the nerves. Reminding each other to just HAVE FUN.

💖THIS RIGHT HERE IS WHAT DIVADANCE IS ALL ABOUT. 💖

😍We’re so much more than just a dance class. We’re a COMMUNITY that cheers each other on, pushes each other outside our comfort zones, celebrates each other’s wins, and creates opportunities to do things we might never have imagined ourselves doing.

🌈A HUGE thank you to @orlandogaychorus for inviting us to be part of such an incredible show and trusting us with your stage! 🏳️‍🌈❤️

🪩 Shoutout to @brittanybunches and @bella._.bennett for choreographing and putting this spectacular show on!

💖And to our Divas… we hope you realize just how freaking STUNNING, INCREDIBLE, and TALENTED you are. We hope you felt every bit as powerful on that stage as you looked from the audience. Because WOW. 🤩

✨ Our first live performance is officially in the books… and we’re JUST GETTING STARTED. 👀✨

💖 CONFIDENCE. COMMUNITY. CHANGING LIVES. 💖
