A season of delight.

I already beamed after being selected to represent @ozartsnashville in the "Model Behavior" issue of @nfocusmagazine alongside some cool & powerful women.

Then felt covered with care & splendor when the magazine's team got me styled in an iris dress (oh, hello, Tennessee state flower) and bejeweled by the kind & gracious stylists @shopgusmayer and then looked out for us at the photo shoot. ➡️

AND they partnered with the ahhhh-mazing @taushadickinson--photographer extraordinaire. She & Anthony play great music & know how to make a gal feel the loveliest. (Read more about her & the Model Behavior photography day in the link in my bio).

And the icing on the cake: I got an early morning text from a friend holding the new issue of the magazine with ME ON THE COVER! Unbelievable delight. I've been a Cover Gal all month, y'all.

In a season filled with patient surgery recovery, I also managed the 90s concert of my dreams with @bethlifecoach (Shoop, Shoop, Shoop), a second @natasha_trethewey_official visit, @drinkcheerwine x @googooclusters, many walks among the @shelbybottoms 2026 superbloom with my favorite returned Nashville resident @larartstudio (welcome back, welcome back, welcome back) & all Dolly everything because . . . well, Dolly. 💕

As if that's not enough? @suzanneroberts28 released a new book of writing prompts, featuring a prompt inspired by my poem "Practicing". ✨

I feel such heft & care for friends I love who are going through too much. For horror in the news. State-approved terror. Too many wasted hits on my cell phone (sorry to add to your hours, dear reader who is still reading).

And I feel such delight.

Really leaning into the gift of these words @iamkennyrae_ gifted to me through her art.

Grateful for support & care from others & the power that lives within & reflected around me by everyone, all of you.

Stay grounded, friends.

Look everywhere for the thick glow of delight.

I’ve been in the room for a lot of interesting things.

Magazine offices. Fashion closets. Photo shoots. Global fashion weeks. Showrooms, installs, dinners, after-parties and the after-after parties... and a frankly unreasonable number of conversations about whether something is almost right or is, in fact, actually right.

I spent over 15 years in New York learning from people who were very, very good at what they did — and getting close enough to see how the good stuff gets made: the reference nobody else caught, the weird thing pulled from the bottom of the pile, the styling choice that changed the whole picture or the place you’d never know to go unless somebody told you.

Five years ago, Studio Dease was where I started putting my own name to that instinct. But somewhere along the way, the work got bigger than the container.
So Studio Dease became Neon&9th.

Not a reinvention. More room.
For the things worth knowing about, the people making interesting things, and the details that change everything. What I’m seeing, making, finding, loving — and all the little things that make an experience feel like something... more.

I’m much more of an IRL gal than a social one, but I have a lot I want to share. So come with me while I figure this part out.

Consider this your invitation to the fun end of the dinner table.

Say hello to Alice Hudson Pell — proud member of the Junior League of Nashville and one of this year’s Nfocus “Model Behavior” honorees!

As Executive Director of TennGreen Land Conservancy, Alice has spent over a decade protecting Tennessee’s wild places — from launching the wildly popular Hike-a-Thon (1,398 hikers, $300K+ raised, 17,836 miles logged across 41 states and 13 countries in its sixth year!) to serving on the Metro Parks, Nashville Parks Foundation, and Cumberland Trail Conservancy boards.
