POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Arts news in two parts.

First up, the roundup: Our weekly arts-news roundup includes a 65-foot roadside tower that’s been turned into a four-story installation by artists like Lonnie Hanzon … a bloody Opera Colorado opener … Biennial of the Americas … the death of local actor Mark Lewis and some seriously wacky words of the day.

Also: Whatever it ends up being called, the iconic former Mercury Cafe is poised for a major revival early next year after a long period of turbulence and dormancy.

Both in today’s Denver Gazette. @denvergazette. Links in bio.

Much fun was had last night at Denver’s Burning Man Decompression. Great to see lots of friends and the usual array of truly splendid and fantastical art. There were also some awesome performances from the fire dancers. Thank you to all the volunteers who are the real beating heart of this community who work tirelessly to make events like this a reality.

FYI I’m playing a 5-hour open-to-close set at @junkyardsocialclub in Boulder on Saturday 22 November … and before then I’ll be doing a Pop-Up set at Confluence Park on 19th October, so check my website for further details.

The set from Decomp will be online later this week.

Connections Networking at @beacondenver was a success last night. It was a great evening of building community on their unique patio space. The sunset and cool breeze made for a perfect setting to hang and chat. Thanks to everyone who came out for this initial event.

✨ Dying of the Light is out now. ✨

This song means so much to me. It’s one of the most personal I’ve ever written—grappling with the raw emotions of loss, grief, and finding some glimmer of light in the darkness.

In the reel, I wanted to speak to you directly, to share a little of what this song represents and why it’s so close to my heart. I hope it resonates with you, wherever you are in your journey.
