The pressure you withstand to build something from scratch, with people depending on you, is one thing. It’s transformational. To build in this climate, in this country, takes unprecedented vision, resilience and courage. But to build with such urgency, unpredictability and emotional weight is something most of us will never fully comprehend. @blackwomenrisinguk this year in particular was incredibly special, honouring so many well-deserving women and men. @leanneperoofficial between the dress and the speech, I don’t know where to start. ❤️ And @taylormadeldn , you beyond deserved this. You continue to make so many people proud for so many reasons, but mostly because of who you are at your core. N H C 2 0 2 6.. Celebrating 60 years of culture, community, resistance, resilience, vibrancy, love and so much more. From the @orshaircareeurope float with @treasuretress on Sunday to a spontaneous return on Monday, @nhcarnivalldn was everything my soul needed. En route, @jameliaisobsessed and I were talking about our favourite music to hear to at carnival, and mine is without a doubt, soca. Soca is the sound of my family, both young and old, the soundtrack of my Nan’s kitchen and my Auntie’s BBQs ❤️💛💚 That universal quick two step we all do when we hear it feels like a conversation 💃🏾😅. #nottinghillcarnival set a standard for a more than community gathering, it’s a feeling of belonging and freedom. 473 Always 🇬🇩

Hair has always been a big part of me…from doing my own pick and drop in secondary school to my sister and I starting @hair_by_av. Finding myself in this industry really does feel like a full circle moment. Growing up, the way textured hair was represented to me looked so different to what it does today. There’s still so much work to do but that’s why creating spaces where young people can see themselves, feel celebrated and leave feeling more confident in their own hair means so much to me. On Friday, @cremeofnature_uk partnered with @treasuretress to bring Salon Sessions: Under 21 to @snapchat HQ (a special thank you to @georgefromlondon) to have honest, fun and empowering conversations about curly, coily and textured hair. ✨ Being able to intentionally curate this event alongside the incredible Treasure Tress team was and is always a dream! From our amazing host and panellists sharing their stories, advice and haircare gems, to the INSANE branding and photo moments that brought the whole space to life...every detail was so intentional, and I’m honestly so proud of what we created together. “When women come together with purpose, something powerful happens. Celebrating a powerful morning of sisterhood, strength, and purpose. This event marked the onboarding of @adeolagboyega as the third patron of @blackwomenrisinguk — and what a meaningful moment it was. The room was filled with incredible, inspiring women, each bringing their own story, energy, and presence. We listened, we reflected, and we held space for the real experiences of women navigating cancer — stories that were both humbling and deeply moving. Adeola shared her vision of using her expertise in the makeup and skincare industry to support women of colour through their cancer journey — helping them feel seen, confident, and cared for during some of their most challenging moments. Communities like @blackwomenrisinguk are exactly what change looks like. ✨ It was such a privilege to attend the welcome breakfast for their new patron, @adeolagboyega , one of the most humble, warm, and inspiring individuals at @esteelaudercompanies offices. Being surrounded by so many like-minded women, all committed to creating change, was truly special. I loved that the panel was made up of women with lived experiences, who shared their stories with such passion and vulnerability - it was both moving and empowering. And yet the work is far from over. Cancer outcomes for Black women remain poor, and the disparities aren’t improving fast enough. We still hear stories of women being dismissed and not listened to — and something as significant as finding the right wig after chemotherapy hair loss continues to leave so many feeling alone and unseen. As a doctor, it reinforced something I carry with me: we must do better - better guidance, better support around treatment side effects, particularly for skin and hair, and a deeper understanding of what these things mean for a patient’s confidence and sense of self. So much admiration for @leanneperoofficial the incredible work she continues to lead. ♥️ Stunning pics by our favourite photographer @dmay_photography - a legend 🙌🏾🙌🏾.
