29 was a big year of growth and change for me. Some of what hallmarked this year was grief. Grief from multiple angles. I’m really thankful for my friends and my new therapist for carrying me through this period of time. I couldn’t have done it without the rides to the mountain, the puzzle nights and the encouragement to be my best/weirdest self.

One thing that I struggled with throughout my 20s was feeling like I had sense of intuition. Crossing this milestone I move knowing that I trust myself.

I’ve always struggled with birthdays because I have hard time being seen without accomplishing something or having purpose. But I’m working on it 😂

Here are some of my favorite memories:

1. Hitting Blue Steel for the first time
2. Night skiing in Japan with @taylormboyd @vasu_sojitra @dakotacheek5
3. Walking around Shibuya with @vasu_sojitra and being his personal schlepper.
4. Doing donuts on sleds with @lizskihoward on the deepest day.
5. Creating @caminogueiraa artwork for her rampage bike and seeing the women compete.
6. Following @mountainmind around the ski area and getting sprayed every 10ft.
7. My sock collab with @smartwool
8. Going on trips with Bella
9. Thrifting in Copenhagen with the crew. This day felt like such a movie.
10. Learning how to dirt jump and being part of our amazing women’s bike community.
11. Skiing with everyone in @blacktotheoutdoors
12. Watching my garden grow and seeing reciprocity unfold in real time.

Happy International Women’s Day! We wanted to take this opportunity to highlight the incredible growth of The Uninvited, founded by Coal athlete Jess Kimura. What started as a group of girls filming when no one else would point a camera their way has grown into a global series that is truly pushing the progression of women’s rail riding. This year a Japan Open was added to the roster, highlighting top tier riders like @shizuku_snow819 , @himarin0118 and @hinano6622 . Thank you Jess and everyone involved in these life changing events. The future is looking bright!

So many amazing days in Japan but this day felt so perfect. Snow was good, light was incredible, we watched the moon rise, night skied pow and managed to get into the yakitori spot for dinner.

Thanks @taylormboyd for putting so much work into this shot.

🔥Year of the Fire Horse 🐴

On the night of the Lunar New Year, my mind was racing. Maybe it was a placebo or maybe not? So many cultures, including the one I was raised in, look to the stars for guidance. That night, it felt like everything was orbiting at once. A divine energy shift.

The state of the world. Leaving our spiraling country to chase the elusive “JaPow.” My career. Planning a wedding. House projets. Managing my political rage. Fixing my outrigger. “Why wasn’t I invited?”. You name it, it surfaced.

But it wasn’t the familiar anxiety or hopelessness that accompanied past years of global unraveling. It felt different. Less dread, more reckoning. Like trying to put language to emotions at 3 in the morning.

As the global order continues to shift, my takeaway from these already turbulent months, and even these first few days of the new year, is this: center joy, however I can find it.

It’s been relationships and lived experiences that make me feel whole, not governments. Not institutions.

Bop barriers. Chase joy. Take up space. Center people over profit. Speak truth to power even if you feel late to the party.

Flying into this year with hope and a head full of ideas some of which I’m really excited to share with you all! In the meantime enjoy this one photo of some hang time.

Happy Black History Month and Ramadan Mubarak!

Oh and make sure you tune in to the Paralympics after the Olympics 🦾

Summer so far— been clocking lots of miles on water, dirt & pavement while consuming plenty of oysters and hot dogs. Let’s keep it rolling

Life lately no particular order.

My faculty for disappointment surpasses understanding. It is what lets me comprehend Buddha, but also what keeps me from following him.

Pash helped make @grandtargheeresort first Banked Slalom come to life and he wanted it to be a @thelegendarybankedslalom qualifier and potentially unknown to Baker we made it happen. Two better people couldn’t have won, @corakaisa won for the gals and @aaronhallenbeck for guys who we are wishing a speedy recovery after a celebratory UNO MAS run gone array.
