I don’t know about you, but it’s challenging to not lose yourself a lil when you start dating someone new…

Life feels different and more vibrant with their presence. Your thoughts constantly drift to them. You find yourself checking your phone for their name … ahh it’s so silly and sweet and exciting aaand sometimes you need to be stern and remind yourself of your own existence with some things you like to do alone.

It’s always good to have a little tune up with yourself, and enjoy some sacred solo self-care time … I suggest making a lil list of your favorite activities (pro tip: make one for each season) of different activities you like to do that are special because they’re sacred time you spend with your beautiful self.

Shop Farm Stands
Fresh Ice Cream Downtown
Get lost in a niche topic at the local library
Walk at the Park or Beach (with sweet treat & paint)
Yoga in the yard

Running a small business and writing poems for a living is hugely fun and rewarding but not without the occasional challenge! I love my job although juggling the work/life balance takes some organisation. I have two small children and it’s often a lot of work behind the scenes, many late nights and sometimes I feel overwhelmed. I know that I’m definitely not alone in any of this and so many of us are doing our best and trying to keep afloat in every sense. I am constantly trying to evolve, improve and reflect.

Looking back on how it all started, I feel so lucky that my sister-in-law @tbalance_ is the most incredible life coach, who has guided me through various tricky situations and demanding times, including being my catalyst and giving me the courage I lacked to start this business. If you are in need of a coach for any aspect of your life, I strongly recommend getting in touch with her. She has a remarkable talent and has helped countless people find direction, purpose and confidence. She is magic.

Breathe and Soften are two words that I used through my pregnancy and birth. But I think everyone can benefit from them. In our busy day to day we often forget to stop and breathe, it is so important that we fill ourselves with oxygen, life and vitality. As for softening ourselves, we are all tense and tight in our bodies especially our face, jaw and shoulders, remember to take time to soften your grip on things, roll your shoulders down and relax into things.

Use your time and attention on things that matter. This includes on people that help you rise; not those who bring you down. Learn to let go and retire from things that don’t empower you. You were born to be real, not to be perfect. You’re here to be you, not to be what someone else wants you to be 🤍
